Yeah, I agree with that and think Fergie saw the same sort of qualities in Moyes. It's an old way of thinking. He's got it badly wrong and it will take much more than that for a coach to survive in this league.
Think Fergie saw a lot of Scottishness and post match red wine grovelling advantages in Moyesie. Plus there was a lot of positive pro-Brit media evidence to offset the stunning mediocrity at Everton.
Exactly. He was on the backfoot before he stepped in the door. He has no credentials. Not a revolutionary mind in football and tactics, has no new philosophy, wasn't a great player so he's got no clout there, no trophies...how can they respect him? What was he bringing to the table?
i don't think you can blame everything on Moyes, clearly he is out of his depth but that team is last seasons champions with fellaini and mata added to the squad. the players, like judas, have failed to perform and gone missing. they have to take a lot of the blame too.
