has anyone actually seen Gervinho play? Im very skeptical about this signing if the rumours are true. The fact that he will be going to the ACON along with Chamack is troubling as well.

He reminds me of Wiltord. Striker/winger type and the goals I've seen him score look a little untidy. Not really impressed with what I've seen so far. Doesn't look super tricky or quick, not so sure about his shooting technique. Quite a lot of taps ins and running around the keeper type goals but no real bullet shots, precesion strikes or anything like that and we need more of that because he won't get as much time on the ball here. Only if we signed Sessegnon. Was so impressed when he came here with PSG to play in the Emirates Cup. Damn shame he's gone to Sunderland. He's skilful, can pass, powerful and has a bullet shot. Oh well.
We'll see what Gervinho does when he arrives but I think he's going to be a back up player for now. I can't see him starting ahead of Nasri, Arshavin or Walcott. Could be a good sub when legs are tired and we need to switch it up. We need players that are willing to take on their man on the flanks.
Let's face it who would want these guys, Wenger may have kept hold of them for years but most managers wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
As for the signings, we seem to be linked with a load of players......noone signed yet though, other clubs have managed to sign players with relatively no fuss. Not convinced these names we're being linked with are actually going to happen anyway.
Gervinho possibly but noone seems convinced about this guy, not exactly what we wanted.

Stoke are preparing an audacious bid to sign former Real Madrid star Mahamadou Diarra.
The Mali international was signed by the Spanish giants from Lyon for £17.5million in 2006 but fell down the pecking at the Bernabeu following the arrivals of Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso last summer.
He moved to Monaco in January but is now ready to move on again and that has alerted Stoke boss Tony Pulis, who believes he can thrash out a deal for the 30-year-old.
Pulis is also keen on Birmingham defender Scott Dann but faces a fight to land the 24-year-old, with Liverpool and Aston Villa also reported to be keen.
Wenger shoulg get the feck in with a bid could be the steel in the middle we need and is much better then parker

Anderlecht have said they are in talks with Chelsea over the possible transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge.
The 18-year-old Belgian striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League runners-up for a few months.
Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeeck said: "There is still a long way to go in the negotiations.
"We are indeed negotiating with Chelsea, but there are other clubs we are talking to."
The teenager has also been linked with Chelsea's Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.
He was linked with a move to England in January but instead stayed with Anderlecht until the end of the season.
The transfer could involve Blues midfielder Kevin De Bruyne joining the Brussels club on loan.
Van Holsbeeck added: "It could happen in the next half hour, it could take until 31 August - that is football."
Chelsea appear to be negotiating transfers despite being without a manager since May following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti.
This week they were reported to have had a £22m bid for midfielder Luka Modric rejected by Tottenham.

The Times reporting #AFC had talks with reps of #NUFC's José Enrique. They see him as a potential replacement for #LFC target Gaël Clichy.

Would love Jose Enrique here. Excellent player
I can go with that Enrique had a very good season last year
one of Newcastles best players and better than Clichy by a country mile
very good signing indeed, can play football, cross and fits AW running FB mode
my first choice would be Baines but can see the Toffees dragging that one out
Enrique would be cheaper so woeth a punt
Would prefer Baines, we need someone who can take free kicks.
Gervinho should be signed next week.

gimme more. . . .seems real quiet today
we should be able to get one of these two (baines, enrique) in...surely they have some ambition and want to test themselves in the PL. i also like the fact that from what i have seen of them they both look tough and battle-tested. we need to start to integrate that sort of player in the squad.
not a downgrade on Clichy
had a good season last year
played well when I saw him which was more than just against Arsenal
I agree Bines would be expensive, one reason being his extra feature that we praise him for - his free kick tking
would take him over Enrique - shit its not my money but if it meant using money, say what we planned to use for anothher quality striker midfielder than this time I would go for the cheaper option - selling Clich to someone should pay for Enrique anyhow I would think and may pay a large part of a Baines transfer
saying that the Baines gossip front has dried up a little
From what i have seen which is a few matches over the season Enrique looks a better passer than Baines and looks a good wing back. Have not been able to figure how good a defender he is.
Based on 1 season right?
Clichy has consistently been playing in CL & on the International scene for the past 3 to 4 seasons, admittedly he's gone off the boil the past few seasons but to suggest Enrique is far better than him is laughable.
Enrique only emerged last season, he wasn't even that highly rated in Spain prior to his move to Newcastle.
Clichy has been consistently shit whilst playing in the CL and international level. So much so that when Evra was banned after the World Cup, it wasn't Clichy who took his place.
Jose Enrique has been consistent since he joined Newcastle. Couldn't care less how he did before that in Spain. Remember that's a country where if you aren't a Barca player then you're regarded as shite with the bias they have towards the barcunts but that's another topic for another time.
All we need to know is Enrique is better than Clichy and is a must get
Not seen much of Enrique tbh but as much as I like Clichy, I don't think it would take a great deal to replace him. I don't think full back is a particularly influential role to play, unless you're someone like Alves. Someone defensively adequate is good enough IMO.
I'd prefer to keep Clichy but just like Nasri, if he's not interested then it's time to say goodbye.
Fuxake. Gibbs is better than clichy. And will only get better. Just needs to be taught, and he'll be fine.
Nigel winterburn was awful, but he did what GG told him to do.
Point is, it's about the organisation and coaching of the defence, Clichy hasn't learnt a thing in 6 years. Gibbs is already better position wise.
Dunno bruv, Gibbs hasn't looked that great IMO, granted his career has been stop-start with injury but I don't understand why he's been elevated to this status of being ready now. Clichy's form over the past few years isn't much of a measuring stick lets be honest if that's what we're using.
I don't think Gibbs has played enough consistently to really show what he can do.
If we lose Clichy we must replace him properly and not just bank on someone from project youth coming good.
Nah, I just think as Gooners we often see greener grass because we fuck up so many times, when in actual fact, pound for pound, we've got just as good already in place.
Clichy, were it not ofr his inability to concentrate. Is as good as evra....easily. But evra is diciplined.
Gibbs tracks players, shows them inside, and is more useful going forward. He doesn't have the same instinct for cutting the ball out as clichy does, but that is all the good clichy does...anticipation.
We don't need new blood who'll likely as not be replaced by more of the same. We need a defensive coach.
If GG could get a spastic lile winterburn to stay in shape, you could get a fluid good footballer in Gibbs to do the same. Nigel was only 22 when he came to the club.
