Agreed. He was given every chance to succeed here but just didn't have the stones for it.

I think its been a 2 way street. There is clearly something fundamentally flawed in Arshavin's psyche, and it doesn't surprise me at all to hear that he may retire from football altogether. Being a top footballer is about more than talent - which Arshavin has. Its also about a love for the game and a burning desire to play - which he clearly hasn't. Shame.
Looked decent in his last game for us against Reading. Should have got a least a few appearances after that. We need to make better use of our resources and stop paying players to just sit on the bench. He's a disaster waiting to happen type player so I don't understand why he's been frozen out.
Perhaps, but we didn't even try to get him fitter it seems, look at the stats about the number of games he's played and how many times he's been substituted. Some players are better at getting the best out of players like him.....I personally think we played him in the wrong position and this didn't help his moral, he's clearly quite fragile confidence wise and has never recaptured form after his initial burst. Was pretty decent in the Euros though and not bad for Zenit.
Giving a player bit part games is never going to improve his form.
if arshavin is planning on retiring when his contract runs out then it tells you everything you need to know about him.
would rather just retire then play football, would rather take more money then fight for it elsewhere (he rejected reading and fulham in the summer apparently) this is arsahvin taking the money and doing fuck all because of his attudue, not the fault of wenger
Remy has an £8m release clause apparently.
Must get
