It was so OBVIOUS a mistake not to sign quality in this area of the pitch when we had a chance in the summer. Negligence not to do it. Injuries can't be used as an excuse this time around. We had the squad, we had the money to build a buffer against our usual injury crisis, he didn't do it. Skinflint's fault.
I think the frustrating thing is that while it was working, our MF was already a mix and match. Coquelin was almost a fortunate accident, and Santi had to adapt to a position that wasn't his own. A 'specialist' DM was the obvious choice, but the manager seems to prefer to gamble. Every time.Quote:
