Sheffield Utd are clearly hopeless
But you can, as they say, only beat what’s put in front of you so nice to see us doing that confidently today. A nice goal difference boost.
When looking at their results
Losing 1-0 to Palace, 2-1 to Forest, 2-1 to City, 2-1 to Spurs, 2-0 to West Ham, 3-1 to Fulham, 2-1 to United
Despite all these losses they’ve only been hammered by us and the Geordies
They are terrible, but in a way I feel bad for them because the club is in a huge mess. They lost their two best players after promotion and they’d already resigned themselves to relegation before a ball was kicked (the money they got from promotion was all about clearing the clubs debts)
I thought today might be a bit of a struggle given we haven’t always fared well against teams that play with 11 behind the ball. And they haven’t capitulated apart from to Newcastle. And first twenty odd minutes it did look that it would go that way, really not creating anything but we created a chance took it and never looked back. Everyone knows Edward is not good enough for us, but if that boosts his confidence enough that he can pop up with more useful goals than it will be a good thing (especially if we decide to sell him and get a good asking price for him)
Two clean sheets back to back in the league at the Emirates as well. First time in almost two years
The goals from Edward are very good.
First goal lovely control, turn and finish. Second good poacher’s instincts after flap from Fotheringham and third is a lovely on a hat trick blast from outside the box (definitely should be goal of the month contender)

Same start as The Invincibles.
It’s ON!
Very pleasant game to be at yesterday, certainly after we scored the first
Wasn't sure about our lineup beforehand but actually given the opposition it worked well, even the Zin thing made sense given he didn't really have to defend
If Arteta can now start alternating some players more, especially Zin and Tomi, we could really be on to something - still need a striker though, as said above, nice to see him get a hatter, but Eddie's still not good enough
I didn't mind Vieira taking the pel - he 'won' it and it's good to get different players on the scoresheet - though it wasn't a great strike and he was lucky the keeper guessed wrong
I expect Raya enjoyed having a quiet game where he couldn't mess up too much, I think we'll see Ram at W Ham in the week though and hope he does well
One thing I’ll give him is that I think Arteta has rotated a lot more already than he has in the previous 2 seasons. Doesn’t feel like players are coming in from the cold as much, everyone seems to be involved where possible.
Thought Raya should why he's in the team, tbh. A couple of times he came out and claimed a cross and instantly hit excellent passes out to start a counter. One in particular should've been a goal when Martinelli laid it off...but the chance went to Sakashite which is where they go to die.
