Not sure they said that but I remember the commentators alluding to the likely prospect of there being no English interest after this round.
They didn't say that as such actually, they did say we're still in it but effectively as good as out (not in those exact words).
In short noone thinks we have a hope, can't blame them, we don't.
I would think that we would be favorites to go out even if we had the invincibles in their prime! And with this bunch of clowns, its not even mission impossible, there is no freaking mission... our players are just going into an open battlefield where they will be shot at. I think Wenger focusses far too much on the psychology of his players and football. Also, I think Souness has a point, I wasn't convinced about what he said when it comes to us training on defence everyday. He practically said that you can't prepare for such things on match day because the game is quicker and it's all about making the right decision then and there. True to an extent but it looks as if our defence have no clue of how they should be organised at all as if they just have to play as individuals. Again, too much emphasis on the mental state of his players.
This will be the last match for us in CL for a year or two. Let's enjoy this.
