Might as well start watching the MLS tbh.. :coffee:
Is this really supposed to be believed as a more positive experience than 2010? As it doesn't really feel like it.
I think the positivity is meant to come from our youth getting experience and probably actually being our best players. You know, Sterling and er.... Barkley I guess. But we've never had a handful of good players come through at around the same time. Maybe we could give them some sort of snappy name. Golden Cohort.
But as many predicted before the tournament, you can pick anyone you like, if you're going to play shit football and accommodate shit footballers then you're going out. What makes it worse for me is that this time I genuinely believed we had the chance to play in an exciting and attacking way and we still played like shit. At least in 2010 we knew what was coming.
I guess all those players who "didn't have the baggage of England failure" have some hand luggage to haul back with them now as well.
Build a team around a lump of shit like Wayne Rooney and you're going to lose as soon as you come against anything that didn't crawl out of a pub lock-in.
Rooney is Shearer's pick for next England captain
