The reason we had the ball up there in the first place is because we went forward instead of sideways and we moved players up the pitch at speed in support. Like Preston were doing all first half. None of this is complicated. Football's a very simple game. Wenger makes it complicated.

We've always tried to play the ball forward. The problem has been the quality of the passing and control. Xhaka almost lost the ball from deep again before playing a ball over the top to help set up the goal.

Bollocks have we. You give any of those midfielders a choice and they'll play it square or backwards every time. It's like having fingernails pulled while being kicked in the balls watching us grind through our usual routine. But every now and again, pass, pass, pass up the field and a bit of running and that's when we look dangerous. The rest of the time you wouldn't back us to get it in the box let alone the goal. If you haven't noticed that by now then you must have been watching a different team all this time. Tip, tap, tip, tap, even when we're losing. I think Wenger calls it patience, the type that would test a saint.
