Or, to put it another way, no he isn’t

Thompson does 9.80 too (the other one was actually 9.81)
Hodgkinson breezes through the 800m semi-final.
Hot favourite for the final tomorrow
Josh Kerr does the same in the 1500m
Welsh cunt of a PE teacher made me do the 1500 for sports day
Then years later he gets the opportunity to resign on the hush hush for knobbing school girls (couldn’t get him on statutory rape charges because they were all over 16, but never worked in education again after that)
Used to see the prick as he used the same gym as me.
Unnecessarily irrelevant rant over
Stop: Hammer time.
Some Canadian bloke won it by a mile.
Right. Here we go. 100m final
Lyles from the US gets it! 9.78.
What a run!
The bloke who came last did 9.91
Blimey!
So the drugs do work after all
Seems to be a few instances where we are snatching silver or bronze from the jaws of Gold. Mixed relay Triathlon the latest example
btw having seen it I think our guy took out the French guy deliberately in the mountain biking the other day - I know people will say it's what you've got to do to win but it wasn't pretty and he deserved to be booed by the (admittedly French) crowd tbh
Trump spreading more lies
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/r1Gh3BpoCLs
There is certainly some doubt about whether she should be competing against other females, but she is NOT someone who has transitioned and was never a "good male boxer".
See I’ve never thought the word Lies is accurate with Trump. Whilst of course there’s no doubt that he does tell knowing porkies….a lot of the time he simply has no idea what the truth is and has no interest in finding out.
His niece said of him that he’s the kind of person who will gaslight himself and convince himself something which is false is actually the truth (especially if that falsehood is beneficial to him)
Talking Bollocks is the more accurate label
Yes, that's fair. You're right - lying implies he knows the truth and is deliberately misrepresenting it.
It's more likely he just hasn't bothered to find out - he's read the "she's trans" narrative, it feeds into his particular biases so he's parroting it without bother to checking if it's true, because he doesn't care if it is.
Laura Kenny is not really a natural in front of the cameras
Ladies win the cycling gold in the team sprint.
In a WR!
Things I can't stand about the Olympics coverage:
1. Clare Balding
2. All these questions about feelings, emotions etc - fuck off and ask about tactics, technique etc ffs
3. Bullshit interviews with pple's families etc - fuck that
4 cheesy videos we're shown instead of the sport
I don’t think the coverage has been that good this time
Keeley Hodgkinson going for gold in the 800m
And wins it fairly comfortably :scarf:
Holy shit!
Duplantis breaks his own WR. 6m 25 in the pole vault. That’s insane
I have to say, despite some people looking down on it…I think Skateboarding is a totally legitimate Olympic event.
It’s something that does take incredible physical coordination to master at the level on display at the Olympics. And yeah I think it’s got a reputation of being a thing for teenagers to do in parks but so what?
Yeah the skateboarding is great :good:
I struggle a bit with sports where someone has to say how nicely you did it.
You know where you are with 100m, the person who crosses the line first wins. With things like skateboarding, it is more subjective.
That said, I know there are rules about this which make it more objective - with diving I know the amount of splash is a factor, for example.
I draw the line at rhythmic gymnastics which is basically just dancing. Yes, it's very clever and skilful, but that doesn't make it a sport.
I mean, juggling is difficult (and I'm very good at it by the way, it's what I did at university instead of making friends or talking to women), but that doesn't make it a sport.
I’m just saying that you have at your own admission stated you have issues with sports that are judged and therefore open to subjectivity. I suppose every sport is to a degree even with football you can legislate as much as you want, and it will still come down to individual interpretation at times
There's obviously a sliding scale. It's like board games. Most are a combination of luck and skill. At one end of that you have chess which is entirely skill and strategy, at the other you have snakes and ladders which is entirely dumb luck.
With sport it's debatable where the line is. The sports which are in the Olympics has always been a bit of a arbitrary and entertaining mix. Breakdancing, sorry "breaking"...nah, that's not a sport. It may be skilful and entertaining but so are lots of things. Skateboarding...I think it's a bit silly but I watched Brown's run and I enjoyed it. More of a pastime/hobby than a sport I'd say.
tbh I quite like ice dance - I guess I'm the Torvill and Deam generation. But it's basically Strictly Come Dancing on ice,
I think anything that has a competitive edge to it and requires physical skill can be deemed a sport
As long as there is a consistent structure surrounding it. Maybe in time we will have a computer that can judge these events and provide a completely impartial analysis when it comes to score giving
I draw the line at ultimate frisbee though
The only thing ultimate about it, is their failure as human beings
:haha:
I don't understand why some people are so down on darts. I don't think it should be in the Olympics but it's surely more of a sport than some of the stuff in there.
I'd rather watch frisbee than darts tbh
