It only takes a bad 5 games for the knives to come out for Wenger, so just imagine if we were almost half way through the season and loitering above the relegation zone...

It's all circumstantial I don't think anyone is that passionate a Wenger out individual, it's all governed by circumstance
When we are doing badly I want him to go, when we are pushing along nicely like we are i don't feel that strongly (although i still think he's a knucklehead for not buying in the summer and leaving us decimated by injury).
But yes I don't think the board would have allowed Wenger to carry on losing nine games from opening sixteen.......but we only ever sink so far under Wenger to that end we are the model of consistency.
The great thing about this hypothetical debate is that it will always stay that way too. Wenger will never demean our club to depths Mourinho currently is because he isn't such a sickening, despicable cunt intent on destroying everything around him to protect himself. He's stubborn, outdated in parts and maddening on many occasions but we'd never be dragged down so low, so far into the season with no glimmer of reprieve. This isn't just a one season 'blip' by Maureen, or even comparable to Klopp last season because Dortmund had their best players swiped away by their rivals and they did not enter into free fall as champions. Chelsea have no excuse whatsoever. This leaves a huge stain on the so called 'heights' reached by their manager over his career that won't be easily forgotten.
No Wenger doesn't go off on a tirade of abuse at other people at the slightest criticism, doesn't try to demean the achievements of others.....has never lost the dressing room and has never had Arsenal 16th after 16 games into the season.
I have a lot of gripes with Wenger, stubbornness, inflexibility, micro managing etc but we all know the only person who has ever accused him of being a tyrant is that ball end Stuart Robson. Yes he relies on his own counsel too much but this isn't a confrontational guy he doesn't create bad relationships with people in fact how many people speak badly of him at all?.
Very few
I'll start believing in anyone of the thousands of nebulous deities again, if this jumped up lot gets relegated.
Guardiola is reportedly not renewing his contract with Bayern and will leave in the summer, with Ancelotti lined up to replace him.
I suppose United, City and Chelsea will all be after him.
Despite the constant Man City links I think Pep has said that the only two clubs in England that he'd ever be interested in managing are us and United. Chelsea really aren't his style tbh ...... more a job for Simeone that. And Julian Laurens (who's got Arsenal connections) thinks that Pep's the only guy that Wenger would step aside for.
I dunno, putting two and two together it wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world to me if Pep was managing us next year especially if we win the league and Wenger wants to go out on a high.
Anyway, emergency board meeting at Chelsea today allegedly. Could finally be the end of Mourinho. John Terry for player manager till the end of the season maybe?
