How much would he cost?
LUKAS PODOLSKI is a summer transfer target for Borussia Dortmund.

Nope
We have no players wanting to leave this summer while spurs and Liverpool do, the media can't deal with this, can't deal with the optimism around us and negativity around spurs and Liverpool that they have to make shit up about podolski
Who wants to leave Spurs?
Podolski himself just retweeted this...

Reports in England about @Podolski10 to Dortmund. Can't see that one happen. Wrong signal from Wenger selling. Player seems to love London
So Wenger selling him then ;)
Podolski is decent but I don't know why Dortmund would be interested. Needs to up his game next season - though it'd help if Wenger actually played him.
Personally wont miss podolski too much should he end up leaving. Decent player but seems a lazy fucker at the same time.
Besides, we need to make room for Benteke and Higuain.
Podolski has to stay
If he stays, I'm ok with that also, as he's not a Must Get Rid a la Gervinho, Chamakh and possibly Giroud.
Needs to be played upfront though.
He can do a job on the left if needed but he's a striker.
Time for 4-4-2 to come home.
I wouldn't even put Gervinho or Giroud on the 'must get rid' list. They should be squad players and the same can be said for Podolski.
I suppose it's a good sign that Wenger hasn't taken so long to bench and replace players that aren't producing. He was ruthless with Chamakh and spared no time benching Gervinho and Podolski.
He was only ruthless with Chamakh because of RVC's return.
And it did look like Podolski was carrying an injury, so I'm not sure if he was dropped. And then we went on a good run, so the team stayed the same mostly.
Podolski is a good player to have around because he guarantees goals. Are we a club that can afford to have a high earner like him sitting on the bench though? That's why I could see him being sold if we buy any new attacking players. Seeing as Sanogo will be our premier purchase, however, he will most likely stay and continue to look rigid and only occasionally useful in our system.
But Podolski was playing well scoring a few goals and chalking up a fair amount of assists prior to being benched, so a bit harsh to say he wasn't producing. I remember lots of fans asking why Wenger was freezing him out after his good run of form. The answer posted here was that he was carrying an injury.
I still believe he's a lazy fucker who is capable of giving a higher output, but it seems he was another one Wenger was ready to kill off for whatever reason. Luckily for him, the French statue got suspended.
I'm still not convinced he can play there. He hardly attempts to beat his marker when one on one and needs someone else to create the space for him with a good pass. He works better with an attacking fullback like Gibbs. It's like we need two players to do the job of one. It usually takes a combination of passes to advance down the left side and it's as if he needs service just to get beyond fullbacks instead of creating it for himself which is what a typical winger will do.
It's a tricky one because he's putting up the numbers, can deliver the good pass and finish when needed, unlike Gervinho but we miss that marauding threat down our flanks. The complete attacking winger. We're getting half and half on each side of attack because it's the same with Theo on the right. But Theo at least tries to beat his opponent on the wings and sometimes pulls it off. I don't know how Wenger will balance it all up. He's also got Cazorla playing there too so who knows what's on the cards.
We have too many fucking squad players! If we continue to buy and house mediocre players like Giroud, Bendy, Chamcack, Ramsay, and even Walcott, we will continue to be a club that is only looking at 4th the place trophy! We should only buy quality! It is false economy to continue to buy shite players. Freddie Lljunberg was right to slate the club.
Take a pill, for fucks sake.
Shifting those players over to the bench shouldn't effect our search for top quality players. It's a case of pushing players like Giroud and Podolski down the pecking order and getting better players in to start. I didn't say anything about continuing to buy shit players. It's unrealistic to expect us to sell all those players and replace them in one window. We still need a strong bench that has some Arsenal and Prem experience. It's why I'm also against selling Vermaelen even though he's lost his first team status.

Hope this happens.
Bear in mind we get 50% of any transfer of Cesc to any other team, I can't see United offering £40m for him.
Would Barca take a massive hit though ?
The fact of the matter is that we lack depth, our so called bench players lack the quality to be of much worth. . .we cannot hope for much if we all we have to ring on are the likes of Santos.
You are right that we should buy quality but if the purchases we make mean that Giroud and Gerv become more of a bench fixture, I am ok with that.
Only Citeh and Chelsea have the resources to sustain bot a first and second XI of WC starters
Hope Cesc doesnt go to another Premier League team he is a top quality player. I would love to see him back at arsenal despite how he left.
I can't see why Cesc would go to Man Utd tbh. He left Arsenal to go home which also coincided with joining the best team in the world and winning a bunch of trophies. So surely if he comes back to England he'll join Arsenal as he's got unfinished business??!!
Leaving Barca for any English club is a massive step down so he may as well come to us.
according to Bild paper, napoli have agreed a 20m euro fee for him apparently. thats a great deal. one we shouldve looked at IMO. touted his name a few weeks back but a lot of people thought he would cost a lot more.
Denilson has had his contract Terminated by .'mutual consent' - That will be like a new signing
its a start. thats the main thing. now for bendy, chamakh...a serious cull is needed!
also seen reports of us being in for wanyama. but what worries me is the quote "‘Van Persie went to Arsenal then moved on later to Manchester United. Victor can do the same if he goes to Arsenal. And I believe that is what he wants. He wants to go to Arsenal."

I think that's just his agent trying to make out like he's super ambitious and just making himself sound like a cock.
That just demonstrates that we're seen by many as sitting on the second rung of the premier league. That said, it isn't written in stone that we have to stay there. Man Utd dominated largely through SAF and having strong revenue. One of those is gone - will they continue to dominate? We're 2-3 top players away from being in the mix and being at the top level.
