It's mental that you get the same amount of prize money just for appearing in the CL group stage as you do for winning the Europa League. While this move doesn't really do anything to help the competition stand on its own, at least you have to actually achieve something to take part in the CL this way. However with the disparity in revenue the Europa League will always be demeaned and not a lot will change that.

Just saw this posted by someone on BBC and this is the best idea I saw out there:
For me, the best format would be if all countries lost one CL spot in league and there was a playoff between the domestic (ie.FA cup) and the other cup (ie. League cup) for the final CL place. That way league stays competitive until the end and domestic cups become that extra bit special. The CL would still have all the best teams in europe, but it'll be a bit more varied
