I had Gruyere the other day. Not bad.
Newcastle have the right to be pissed, yes they weren't gonna win regardless. But for them Arsenal hadn't shown one interest or contacted them about Cabaye throught this Summer, then all the sudden, because of a humiliating loss, they essentially panic, and just make a bid, the day before their first game. I expect them to feel some way about it.
It's a bit unprofessional and very disregarding in a business, where you are always gonna have to deal with each other.
We made a bid for a player and they rejected it, which is their right. If we had done it last week, is it possible he wouldn't have played in this game anyway? There's nothing unprofessional about it. What would have been unprofessional is if we had publically made mention of the player before their match. Making a private bid is not in any way unprofessional.
Newcastle didn't even have to respond to it (or acknowledge it) yesterday if they didn't want to.
All that remains is for WUMger to say, "No, there is no bid, I do not know this Cabaye player!"
Agree to disagree, but if the another team did this to us, we would feel the same way. For me I just feel like, there's a time and place for everything. And making a bid, the day before a game, for a team's best player. Is a bit classless, and clumsy.
I wouldn't be bothered. The window is open, clubs can bid whenever they want for whatever amount they want - it might be a waste of time for them in the end but they have the right to do so as long as the window is in this format.
Reading the Newcastle forums they seem to be suggesting that Pardew had been talking throughout the summer about Cabaye's availability and tied-in with the apparent links to PSG. Blaming us for his inability as a manager I won't accept.
Talking about 'imagine this situation for us', what if Wenger had openly blamed Man City and Barcelona as the reason for our poor results in August two seasons ago? I doubt it would be washed away like Pardew's comments seem to be.
Overrated Neville may be, but with Carragher alongside him he looks like Archimedes. Y'know.
Archimedes doesn't know shit about football.
