Fair enough - and I catch your drift, mate and agree that if he is a class act then that's a lot better than getting in someone mediocre. I guess I am just frustrated that despite having money to spend, the manager absolutely refuses to go with a tried and tested player. I take your point about almost all players being nobodies at some stage, and the successes that the likes of Manure have had with obscure names, but I do think our current situation is different. Our club deperately needs a shot in the arm after an horrendous Summer - and like it or not if we buy the likes of Dann or Jadson it makes us look small time, and just doesn't create the feel good feeling we need.
9m of the 16m we got for Henry went on Eduardo, that's more than half but not what I'd call a 'significant chunk' though.
Fwiw, I don't know where we'd get anyone as good as Cesc, if Jadson adds more of a goal threat and has a decent amount of creativity he'd be handy but I'd like to see us have a bash at Arteta, like Cesc but more suited for the Premiership, Everton won't be able to resist a big bid for both him and Jagielka as they're pretty poor.
Eboue is off to Galatasaray.
Most important news of the day tbh.
Clearouts.
" I heard what fans were singing about me on Saturday and it is really disrespectful because I am still an arsenal player"
Nasri just tweeted that.
