That's no excuse

Although on the other hand it might make Ramsey take his work a bit more seriously
SSN saying we have offered £92m for Lemar.
We have offered 100 million euros for Lemar
WTF?
Monaco said to be "softening their stance" on letting player go.
92 million quid. For a 21 year old. He's a brilliant player and a huge prospect but this is just insane. And he's not even a replacement for Alexis.
Somebody must have stepped in here and taken transfers out of Wenger's hands. There's no way in a million years he'd be involved in a bid like this.
I have to say, I'm with Wenger on this one. Losing Alexis is the problem here. I guess that was happening anyway, but we could have used the money plus the Ox funds to get a decent CB and CM. That's what we really need, provided the old goat actually intends to play Lacazette.
Essentially what we're doing here is swapping Lemar for Alexis and Ox. That's a crazy deal by any measure.
AND WE COULD HAVE HAD HIM FOR 50 MILL IF WE ACTED EARLY!
Wenger has faxed Monaco asking them to give Dick Law's right arm back.
Just to confirm. Monaco's plan was to sell Lemar for 80 mill - NEXT YEAR!
They must be pissing themselves laughing.
Here's what we need to do.
Forget this transfer window. Sack Wenger and his whole team. And hire the whole staff of Monaco.
These guys are on target to bank half a billion this window and they are still winning matches and developing great talent.
Interesting to know how anyone but the clubs know we have bid for Lemar. Or how any of these bids become public and so quickly. Do they have to be announced? Or is there a bunch of grasses hanging around the fax machines with mobile phones with the press on speeddial?
Perez escaping to Deportivo. Looks like he's under the fence and legging it off into the distance. Bookies can't see how anyone will catch him now and have suspended betting.
Of course this 92 mill bid is all dependent on Lemar accepting a ticket for passage on Wenger's Titanic. Plenty has changed since he last agreed terms.
What a ridiculous club. We now have to sit down and tie up two mega money transfers, one out and one in, within the next 7 hours. In some ways it hints at a lack of planning.
Poor old Wrighty is having a melt down
He needs to chill out, I can imagine the veins throbbing on that malteaser he calls a head
Pray Lemar has sense to turn down the contract. Reluctant to offer Sanchez a contract worth around £60m over 3 to 4 years but willing to spend £90m on some kid with one good season under his belt plus wages that will probably most likely be around the £200k mark?
What fucking idiots. This can't be true.
Really coming out of this transfer window with our tails between our legs, Perez who we didn't want to loan but wanted to sell looks like he's going on loan, Gibbs who we wanted 15 odd million for we sold for 7 million (even though we got a 10 million earlier in the window), Ox wasn't leaving and has left, Alexis wasn't leaving and looks like he's leaving.
To cap it off going back in for Lemar and offering way over the odds because we're desperate (if you believe reports)
Really had a stinker
What a disaster!
Lemar is currently with France. And Dechamps has said no players will be allowed to leave the camp for transfer negotiations. Doesn't Dechamps hate Wenger?
Think about it. Supposedly we were reluctant to offer Sanchez a massive pay rise when he was prepared to negotiate. Now we're willing to spend £90m on some kid from Monaco, plus wages? Has to be bullshit.
Plus, Wenger shouldn't be given another penny spend. He should be sacked and that money should be left for someone else to use. The guy has no idea what he's doing.
Stinks of desperation. 100m euros FFS, at least players like Pogba and Lukaku had an established pedigree.
Some stupid cunt is commenting on the Arsenal situation on Sky right now. Apparently or fans and Alexis are suffering from disenfranchisement. I think he means disenchantment and so do the hosts, because they are really struggling not to laugh.
I reckon it's BS, probably to make it look as if we tried (just like the Mbappe nonsense earlier in the summer) :violin:but if by some miracle it isn't then:
a) He's not a replacement for Alexis, he's relatively unproven, has 1 decent year behind him and doesn't seem to be a goalscorer, so we've gone back to where we were in that we're now short of a 2nd player who can get us goals when we need them
b) 92 million are we being serious? If we'd tried earlier in the window we'd have got him for a fraction of the cost, we must have a bunch of amateurs dealing with transfers
Either way it's been a disastrous window and this does nothing to resolve that, hopefully there will be a massive backlash after this.
It is desperation in the same way Barca signing Ousmane Dembele was
Anyway it's not likely to happen so need to worry about it
Pretty much, panic buying at it's finest, sell your star player and replace him with some unproven kid for 1 1/2 times the price. You couldn't make it up, once again wasting our resources on players who aren't worth a fraction of that (Xhaka and Mustafi last summer of course).
The club probably think will stop the backlash, it shouldn't though losing a guy who scores 25+ goals a season and replacing him with a kid is no conselation at all. Won't be far off from breakeven even after all this ironically.
Lemar is the sort of player we have needed for a long, long time. An all action, 100% energy, winner with great technique who can play effectively all across the middle. Fabulous player and a potential superstar. Which is why coming to Arsenal is the last fucking thing he needs in his life. Wenger will find the one way to ruin him. Even so, we'd get at least one good year out of him before he learned the Arsenal Way.
That said - a lot could still go wrong with the development of a 21 year old, Wenger aside. Injury, the weight of carrying such a big price tag, the jump from French footie to the PL. This is an incredible gamble if it is real. And we'll be guilty of the worst inflation in the market. We'll be the biggest financial dopers of them all.
LATEST: Lemar doesn't want to come here. He wants to go to Liverpool. You see what having a sane manager can do? See what the cost of Wenger's stock decline amounts to?
Deal for Lemar unlikely say SSN.
Of course. Any sane manager would have added a Lemar to the Ozil, Alexis and (still talking about sane managers) Vidal and Draxler. And any sane manager could have extended Alexis' contract months ago by putting 300k on the table. And any sane manager could have signed Vidal for 32mill. And Any sane manager could have signed Draxler for 35 mill. And the same sane bloke could have got Lemar a couple of months ago for 50 mill. And all this was totally manageable because we could have sold the deadwood to fund half of this. Including Walcott and Giroud and Welbeck.
But that would have required a long term plan and a sane strategy that lacked panic and complete incompetence.
Now we are losing our best players, or at best hanging on to players who don't want to be here and won't be here next season. And we're being snubbed by 21 yr olds even though we've bid the earth.
You couldn't fuck this up any more thoroughly if you were deliberately trying to destroy the club.
No sane player would want to join us. We may have better luck with getting Draxler, possibly on loan. Also we should ask for Van Dijk, also on loan.
Allegedly we withdrew our offer for Lemar

Wenger with no where to hide.
No.
Just no.
They are purposely trying to make this club the world's biggest laughing stock.
People will talk about this insanity for years to come.
This is just crazy.
They have literally put this bid out there as a stunt to make it look like they were serious about spending money.
How the fuck would they know?
