I dont think that it is ridiculous to assume a team will win because they are in the Final. Cup football throws up all sorts of results. We won our last trophy after being outplayed by Man U. Argentina made it to the world cup final in 1990 etc etc when there is a chance that the end game is a penalty shoot out, never under estimate the unthinkable.

That is a contradiction. It is ridiculous to ASSUME a team will win because, as you say in the next sentence, football throws up all sorts of results.
