Unlikely, he probably won't even play.
I see nothing but a Chav win unfortunately :(
This is a tournament where having a quality squad rather than just a great first team really comes into play in matches between the big clubs. Chelsea are simply much better equipped for tonight. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we win.
Since the last League Cup game, only Cazorla has returned to the squad. Instead of players returning from injury, Flamini and Feo have since joined the stricken and Gnabry and Eisfeld have decided to pick up knocks too. Even Frimpong has picked up another injury. That was most likely another knock to his brain though, tbf.
Our injury situation just never improves. If we ever have the luxury of a first choice XI again, never mind a fully-fit squad (withstanding Diaby of course), I think the world will cave in on itself.
By contrast, teams with trillion-pound squads like Chelsea and Citeh rarely have any serious, long-term injuries. Well, Kompany aside. Chelsea have only Van Ginkel missing, and he would have been sidelined by Mourinho by now anyway.
Apart from our choice of strikers, our squad is fine. Actually, it's better than fine. As evidenced by our second-choice defence, which looks strangely to be the strongest part of our team at the moment. Our midfield and attacking midfield/wide options are really impressive too. Saying our squad is thin, or whatever cliche the next braindead pundit will use, is factually wrong. In numbers and ability, there's not a huge difference between ours and Chelsea/Citeh's. The only difference is theirs cost loads more. The fact that we always have so many players out exarcebates the myth of Arsenal having LITERALLY no depth.
We should have added to our options up front and in central defence, but what can you do when you have seven first-team players out and even your best young players are dead?
Tl;dr: Injuries are the number one problem at the club. Still.
If we do beat Chelsea today, it will be an outstanding result. If Wilshere, Rosicky and Cazorla play it should give us a real hold of the midfield. Hayden was an absolute scrote against West Brom. He will need to show more than that tonight.
The most important aspect of the game should be to avoid any injury to a first-teamer, especially if Essien is out there targeting the shins of players gliding past him.
Might as well field absolute crud and then have no excuses not to beat Liverpool on the weekend. Would hate Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud getting involved and still ending up losing.
Life lesson: If you don't try, you can never be disappointed.
Arsenal team to play Chelsea: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Cazorla, Ryo, Bendtner
Arsenal subs: Viviano, Sagna, Hayden, Yennaris, Ozil, Giroud, Park
Ramsey is going to be absolutely drained by Christmas. Shame about no Gnabry. Ryo was a lot shit in the last round.
Park .
Well done to Chelsea.
Hope there are no injuries to Jack, Ramsby, Rosicky, Cazorla or Kos, and that somehow we are fresh for Liverpool.
Chelsea: Schwarzer; Azpilicueta, Cahill, D Luiz, Bertrand; Essien, Mikel; De Bruyne, Mata, Willian; Eto’o
Our only hope in hell is out-running a pretty slow midfield. i.e. Ramsey goes mental.
