FIFA spokesperson on Luis Suarez: "A transfer can happen this summer."
Liverpool just released a statement saying they won't be making a statement.
They are melting down. It's comedy gold.

Not even allowed to train.
I want to know how the appeal works, timewise, given that we're in the middle of a tournament. Does Suarez start his ban right now (ie. miss the rest of the world cup) or does that wait until Uruguay appeal or don't?
Can't even set foot inside a stadium.
Essentially, he's being erased from existence for 4 months.
Good stuff.
LOL this is funny.
He must feel like a tit right now.
I don't even care now.
Sell the cunt.
A ludicrous, hype ridden over-reaction. Everything to do with PR, nothing to do with fitting the punishment to the crime. Anyway, what do they mean banned for 9 matches and then banned for 4 months? Is that either/ or? So if Uruguay progress, do those games count? Or is this just domestic of what?
What a mong. If you can't think of a way to explain to a kid that you aren't supposed to bite people on a football pitch then you are fucked beyond belief as a parent. Isn't it 100% obvious without even mentioning it you shouldn't be biting people? What a fucking mong.Quote:
However, former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson felt the suspension should have been longer.
"I don't really think that the punishment fits the crime," he said.
"Say my boy was about 11 or 12, how do you explain to your lad who's a football fan exactly what Luis Suarez keeps doing.
"He is now a persistent offender and I thought actually the ban would have been much harsher."
Nah.
It's the 3rd time the silly bastard has done this. You made the point about bad tackles and you're right, if a player keeps on doing those then they should get a very lengthy ban too, arguably a permenant ban as they're a danger to fellow professionals. But sometimes in football there's a very fine line between a good tackle and one which injures someone. If someone jumps in two footed or goes in way over the ball then that's clearly dangerous but other times a player can get there a split second late and suddenly instead of getting the ball the other player in injured. But biting an opponent...that isn't a fine line or an error of judgement, it's an intentional assault. And to do it 3 times...the bloke has a screw loose and has clearly learnt nothing from previous bans for the exact same thing, one of them only a year ago.
It is a bit harsh on Liverpool but he's got a well known history of trouble so it's something that comes with the territory of having a player that unhinged.
Why doesn't diving get a 4 month ban? Surely that's the most despicable lesson of all to be teaching "The Children" (TM)? Cheating at sport? Horrendous, directly undermining the very nature of the endeavour. Druggies get banned, why not cheats? What sort of message is it sending to "The Children" (TM) when so-called professionals in TV studios apologise for cheating? Ron Atkinson made a joke, Rodney Marsh, Andy Gray, Richard Keys - kicked out, disgraced. Unacceptable behaviour they said. But cheating, corruption, slave labour, that's all okay? Or at least something that needs to be laughed off, excused or brushed under the rug? Then the same arseholes want to throw the book at one individual who has a minimal and isolated impact on the integrity of the game? Bloody convenient, isn't it? And who's giving out the punishments? One of the most corrupt organisations on the planet. It's a big fat joke.
Not saying he shouldn't be banned. Not saying he shouldn't get a longer ban for a 3rd offence. But if we're going to have rules and sanctions for rule breaking then let's apply those across the board, in the spirit of the sport and without bias, hype and sensationalism.
He'll have had something like 35+ games suspended for us in three seasons, without ever having received a red card.
He's a liability. A very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very good liability. But a liability none the less.
Hello - I is FIFA. De playa Luis Suarez is ban. He pay me much money fine. Money. Money. And such behaviour not tolerated at World Cupy, only we disgrace football, this is our job. Who he think he is? Thank you. Please pay very official FIFA exit fee to leave room.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has claimed football has “no morals” as the furore over Luis Suarez continues.
Speaking on ITV’s World Cup broadcast, Strachan said that a player’s worth to a team – on and off the pitch – meant that incidents like Suarez’s shocking biting of Italy defender Georgio Chiellini rarely led to clubs taking a stand.
And the former Celtic boss added that fans would also back Suarez at his club Liverpool, citing examples such as Eric Cantona.
Strachan said: “We give Uruguay stick about defending [Suarez], but every manager defends his player.
“People talk about morals – we don’t have any morals in football. Let’s get that right.
“Over the years I have played there has been wife-batterers, drink driving incidents, infidelity, Eric Cantona jumping into the crowd and kung-fu-ing someone in the chest.
“The clubs stand by them.
“The supporters themselves, when these guys come back, they stand up and applaud them on the pitch.
“So don’t anybody start talking about morals – we don’t have any in football.
“If these things had been done by youth team players – who don’t have any importance to the first team – they get sacked.
“But because they can bring in merchandise and bring in money, then they will back them to the hilt.”
Strachan
Spot on. When is the last time a player was sacked for doing something which in any other profession would be an immediate dismissal and make it very hard to find another job.
So Suarez has been banned from 'all football activity'.
Does that mean he's not allowed to sleep with glamour models, get himself adorned with hideous tattoos or spend two hundred grand on a new Ferrari in the next 4 months?
