Higuain has scored over a 100 league goals in La Liga and he's only 25. Since he's been there only Ronaldo and Messi have scored more. Bentekkers has potential but we want results now, and surely Higgy's more likely to deliver that.

Agreed, Higuain is proven quality. No point betting the farm on Benteke after one half decent season.
Both then, make it so AW.
In an ideal world we should be getting themboth and dumping the French klutz that is Giroud. We can afford it seeing as we are offloading the great Dane B52. It is also important to make sure the Spuds don't get Benteke as the gap in quality between him and Ade is much bigger than the 1 point gap between the clubs seeing as we will still have the handicap of Wumger being our manager next season.
Yeah, Higuain's record speaks for itself. Bentekkers is quality but is still in the flavour of the month stage, lets see if we're still talking about him this time next year.
Get them both!
Higuain is proven quality in la liga...I like him as a striker and think he'd be an excellent addition but...I worry that he could take a while to settle - I'd go for both Benteke and Higuain as replacements for Bendtner, Van Persie, and Arshavin...Giroud a decent 3rd choice option and Podolski being used as a wide player anyway... so definitely space for both of them..and Begovic too
We really don't need 2 strikers.
Get Higuain and strengthen elsewhere.
Higuain
Cesc
Cesar
For starters.
gtfo.
Wazza and Fellaini.
Make it happen Wenget.
If we don't get Higgy Pop after all this speculation, I am going to be little bit in the dissapointed period.

I agree a 100% with every word Francesc has uttered here.
I especially like this bit:
Quote:
People talk a lot but the truth is that no-one has spoken with me. “I want to triumph in Barcelona, that club is my home and I always dreamed of playing there, so I will try and succeed there as long as I can.
£100m for Bale!
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
What a looney bin football is becoming (has become)
Seriously though, what would Messi go for in this kind of market? 2 trillion quid?
I think it's 100m euros. If Tottenham get that sort of money, they're going to start acting like Man City exactly when they unlocked the infinite money trick. They'll start getting shot down left, right and centre and end up with some clown like Robinho.
'Jack Sullivan @jsullivanwhu
Subject to medical Andy Carroll is now a WHU player, 6 year contract. £15.5m plus £2m of extras. Fingers crossed he medicals fine.'
Higuain is a steal at ~£20m or so compared to that
Andy Carroll has commanded over £50m of transfer fees.
Yeah you all laugh. One day I will be proven right about him. New Drogba. Worth every penny.
I don't understand why
a) Anyone realistically thinks we might sign Wayne Rooney
b) Anyone actually wants him
If he's not going to be loyal to United with what they have won in the last five years, why on earth would he be loyal to us.....he's clearly angling for more money as that is all that matters to that greasy turd.
Throw in the bit that he's a behavoural delinquent granny shagger, that has committed his fair share of unforgiveable transgressions against us, who also happens to be fast becoming a fat useless fuck, and he instantly becomes a big No Thanks in the eyes of all proper Gooners.
c.) If he's going to leave Manure there's only a handful of clubs that could afford him. Take the foreign clubs out of that list because he won't live aboard and that leaves us, city and chavs. We could definitely afford him as we've just cut about £300k pw off the wage bill. I don't think he wants more money I think he wants to play as a striker and he's only ever gonna be second choice with RVP on the scene.
d.) Rooney is better than any player we have.
Sure but we're talking about Rooney because he's potentially available. The better players (whoever they are) may not be.
Don't want him under any circumstances. For the money it would take, we could either get far better in his position or significantly strengthen several other positions. Buying Rooney equates to pissing money down a drain.
He's a fat fuck, who smokes, and has been shit for a while. He doesn't score enough, he's ginger, costs too much, and is a ****.
No thanks.

He hasn't played in 18 months
I'm fine with not signing Wazza because Higgy's probably more what we need. But make no mistake he is a genuinely world class, super super quality player. It would be a real statement of intent if we signed him. We couldn't do a lot better than Rooney because no such thing exists.
Higuain less of a creator, more of a netter. Nothing else will do now.
200 goals in 400 games. 50 in last 80. 4th highest ever man utd scorer. 6th highest ever in the prem and will finish in the top five, if not three. he's excellent in the prem. perfect for a team going for the title.
but we're not. and we can't afford him, plus we don't have a manager that could reign him in, so he should never (although he actually isn't at all anyway) be on his way to us.
exactly. plus he's a ****. and we need ****s. quite a few of em. proper ****s. not ones looking for get out clauses to escape the club. but ones who know how to bend the rules, wind everyone up and do anything to win.
any club seriously looking to win something needs their quota. we used to have 'em. now look.
He's had two blinding seasons when he was the focal point of the attack with very good players setting him up, not least howard webb and all those pens.
The rest of his apps v goals per season read quite similar to Giroud's first season here.
He has been a very good player, but he is not in the same class as RVP, who is the player we want to replace.
