It seems Guardiola is on the brink of quitting to have a break from football, according to Sky and BBC.
apparently guardiola's informed barca he's leaving and it will be announced tomorrow.

not sure what to make of this. the first time he's been under some real pressure and he walks away from a sinking ship... is this the end of barca? i think it could be.
he was the one who put the team together and made some big decisions like selling deco, henry, yaya etc, all the big ego's that previous managers didn't have the bottle to get rid of. he was also instrumental in barca's youth academy, both of which have ultimately helped the team flourish over the past 3 years.
all the players look up to him, i dont think another manager will get the best out of the players like he has done. good tactician too.
hopefully this means messi grows some balls to move away from barca at some point in his career now his idol is leaving, come to the premier league lad you know you want to.
hope pep takes a 2 year sabbatical to 'refresh his mind' and comes back just in time to take over from wenger
Awesome.
Next Arsenal manager, in my opinion. I just hope he doesn't settle down at another club before Wenger calls it a day. This guy is perfect for us.
This has been mooted for a long time. Even though he has only been there since 2008 he is still one of their longest serving coaches, which goes to show how hard it is to manage the big two in Spain (and how much his physical appearance has deteriorated in that time!). No doubt Guardiola has been immense for them, more than a dozen trophies in four years (well three years really) is absolutely ridiculous.
Decent guy too.
Who on earth could/would take over at Barca?
Apart from Big Sam obviously.
With how many trophy's he has won in a short space of time its not a bad time to walk away imo.
He can take a break recharge and take his next job where ever it maybe.
Its not a suprise this its been known before this season he was moving so id hadly say the pressure got to him and he walked away.
Not that it will happen, but it would be so good if one of messi, xavi and iniesta followed him out. Not because I would want Barca to disintegrate, but just to see how they get on in another league. Iniesta especially would get much more of the limelight elsewhere. I've never seen a player with better technique.
:haha:Can't get that image out of my head. 4-4-2 Barcelona, messi as the little man up top partnered with big African spiderbayor for racial harmony. Scotty and Xavi in midfield. At least francesc Jeffers would get more starts.
Luis Enrique your time has come fella another Barca legend and all.
If it's gonna be a Barca legend, get Hleb in.
Guardiola :haha:
Whatever anyone thinks about Maureen, he manages to get the last laugh most of the time. It's only outrageous fortune that stood between him and a league/ CL double two years into mission impossible turning Barca over. And that's on the back of mission impossible in Italy. And we've all seen what those chav shits are like, won't play unless they get it their way. Bit of a mission impossible there to, especially with that Russian loon in charge.
Big 'Eck at Barca. :cloud9:Quote:
Matthew Vins on Twitter: "I reckon the Barcelona job could provide Alex Mcleish with his biggest challenge yet. Can he get those superstars relegated?"
From what I've read it's not so much the blip they're having, it's the entire strain of the job itself. He was only signing 1 year deals after all.
yeah, im guessing the blip tipped it.
i bet mourinho's rubbing his hands together. there was me thinking jose was coming back to england but i can see him staying a few more years now. have a complete spell of dominance until fergie retires, then take over at united.
He's going its been confirmed on ssn on the yellow.
bielsa will prob pop up over the summer the mad bastard
I'm still hanging on the 0.003% chance he'll have a change of heart and turn up on JW Henry's door with a suitcase.....
At least Cesc had a year with his idol - he has improved a lot tactically as a result.
I only hope he has the integrity to have a year off and not turn up at chelsea next season.
