When's Nobo Di flying in for his medical?
It's being reported that we've opened formal talks with barca for David villa.
The story is on goal.com though.
Dids joins Galatasaray.
They're just one time machine away from having a great team.
Apparently our two targets this week are Diame and villa.
Your looking for logic when the guy in charge does sh*t like relying on crocks who are never fit every season, leaves our best players out of FA Cup semi-finals, and says when we're almost 20 points behind the leaders we're still in with a small chance of the title and there's not much difference in quality between the two sides?
Good luck.
Dids to destroy more Germans when he faces Schalke?
Dids .
Most of the top clubs would snap up Bale in a heartbeat, you may not like him but he's regarded as a top player and is worth a lot of money. Walcott wouldn't command anywhere near as high a fee and doesn't have top clubs after him as was highlighted recently when no club bothered trying to sign him.
Hype doesn't equate to productiveness. It's nothing to do with 'liking' a player.
Walcott has had a good return in goals and assists for the last few years. Far more than Bale. Hence he's a more effective player than Bale.
Has any top club signed or even shown concrete interest in Bale yet? If he was this apparent world-beater, he wouldn't still be at Spurs.
He'd cost big money and so clubs don't just offer 50 million at the drop of a hat, if he had 6 months left on his contract however I'm pretty sure all the top clubs would be sniffing around.
Bale is the spearhead of many of Spurs' attacks, he's generally the one that unsettles the opposition, I wouldn't say Walcott does. In addition I'd say Bale offers more than just a forward threat having been a full back earlier in his career.
Walcott has been decent this season but overall he hasn't been that great, this is highlighted by the mixed feelings about him by the fans, had he been a big success like Bale he'd be loved by the fans.
There's something about Walcott that just leaves you unconvinced he's the real deal, you don't usually get that with top players.
Liverpool on the verge of signing this Coutinho guy from Inter.
:woohoo:
I know literally nothing of him, but he's an -inho so he must be good.
We should sign Moutinho from Porto, very good player.
Bale was moved into a more forward position precisely because he offered nothing defensively. You can often find him being ineffective on the left-wing and on the right and through the centre too, when he's easily nullified by opposing teams. Like yesterday against Leeds. He's just as inconsistent as Walcott. But has so far had an inferior career at an inferior team. He might become a great in the future, but currently he's a good player who has some impressive games in amongst dozens of poor ones. And wouldn't the fact that elite clubs would rather wait to get him on the cheap rather than spend big money on him suggest he's not that highly-regarded after all?
Clubs know he'd cost 40-50 million which is big money for anyone hence the reason noone has bid for him, not many players move for that kind of money. I think he's more than a good player to be honest, good players are players you'd wouldn't be too gutted to lose as they're easy to replace, he's not easy to replace and Spurs would loathe to lose him.
The mixed feelings about Walcott sum him up, he's a good player but not too hard to replace if you're willing to spend a a decent amount, he's one of our better players due to the state of our squad these days, 10 years ago he's have been a player we would have happily lost without noticing much difference. You'll know if Walcott becomes top class because pretty much all the fans will love him like they do with all top players. There's just something about him that's well, unconvincing.
I'd love him to be a great player, it would be great for the team, he's just not and IMO never will be, the best players stand out from a mile.
As ever, nothing in your judgement of a player or situation reflects what actually occurs on the pitch. If you admit to watching little football, then it's strange to make such confident, sweeping statements. Using "all top clubs want him" or "no top club wants him" doesn't add much to an assessment of a player. Personal feelings of whether a player is special or not are not relevant. The evidence is that Walcott has proved to be a more useful player on the pitch for a team that has consistently played at a higher level than Spurs. And that so far, no big club has shown any interest in Bale.
But noone has shown any interest in Walcott either, even with 6 months left of his deal to go.
It's not my view, it's the view you hear from pundits and commentators all the time, he's rated as one of the best players around talentwise. A lot of our players always seem to have good stats, it's strange that they never really amount to anything these days, good stats don't correspond to good performances unfortunately, on paper maybe Walcott does offer more, but in reality does he really? If you watched both players over a season, I'm not convinced.
Like I said if Walcott was really that good their wouldn't be the doubts that linger around him from many of the fans that support the club he plays for, doubts that don't seem to exist with Bale at Spurs.
Again, stats
How do you know this? It's only Arry that shouts things from the rooftops. Top managers tend to keep things quiet.
I have no doubts whatsoever that Walcott would have ended up at City/Manure/Utd. His stats for the past two seasons have been amazing. I'm sure RVP would want him at UTD.
As for Bale, he is quality. I presume he only signed his new deal on the understanding that Spurs will let him go if he wants to like when Modric signed a new deal.

But Walcott has instead committed his future to the team who signed him from Southampton as a 16-year-old in 2006.
Arsenal rebuffed a bid for him from Manchester City towards the end of the last summer's transfer window, while Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United had also expressed an interest.
Bale's got much higher potential than Walcott tbh, and that's not a slight on Walcott who's a very good player. However, Walcott's ceiling is lower than Bale's, who can become one of the best players in the world in 3-4 years time. He's not all about pace either, as that 360 turn he did yesterday showed. Added to that he can score great goals from long range, something that Walcott hasn't shown he can do.
I must say as well you know that Bale is the only player MS has ever been wrong about. Not exactly 3rd best in the world but he is top, top quality. No doubt.
Theo also very good but little bit less good than Bale overall. Theo would’ve walked to a top club in 6 months time and Bale also can get a move to a top team whenever he wants. But, thankfully, the power of ghel theory is strong. Gotta love them Brits.
