251-6 now. Sammy is on 60. :haha:
New ball taken.
Warne saying Tendulkar is not surprising. He was maybe the most complete batsman in Warne's era, so had more shots to counter him and make him go defensive. Warne got his wicket very few times relative to the number of tests played. For a leg-spinner in particular, getting stone-walled is probably less disheartening than getting carted for runs. I think there's one tour they talk about where Tendulkar kept slog sweeping him into the crowd (Warne was having great success against every other team before this). I suspect the same is true of Botham e.g. you couldn't just knock Richards' head off.
I missed village Sammy all this time. Damn!
You're spot on. Bit of a lazy call from me because I didn't consider the actual duals. Tendulkar played warne better than anyone so obviously he would've been the toughest to get out. Sammy is embarrasing. Who does he think he is? The joke has gone on far enough now, just sky one so we can get on with our lives. In probably village, dehli and sehwag are getting violated.
The villager is going to get his hundred before Samuels.
(i think he'll hole out soon but it'd be a larf)
FFS Sammy, wild swing, completely misses the ball.
Samuels gets his century!
Congrats Samuels. The best knock by a west Indian for a long time.
Sammy. :haha:
Swings at everything.
304-6 at the close of play.
The Sams
Impressive fightback
I turned off after Ramdins wicket feeling sure England will have the innings wrapped up by 4pm
On to the real cricket
Watched a bit of the IPL whilst at the hospital today. No idea whos playing but some pub teamer got a century off 51 balls i think
Sehwag is also playing in this match
Sammy in the morning.
He's on 94, wonder if he will go for the one hit to get his century.
:haha:
He went for it, throwing the bat at it, goes over the fielders and for four.
Sammy gets his century! Pubbed it for four again.
What a man.
340-7, Sammy finally goes after swiping at one too many. Bresnan with the wicket.
341-8, Samuels bored of being left with the tail. Bresnan gets another one.
I think this is the highest team total by a opposition in england for some time. I don't remember India getting this many. Not a match-winning or even drawing total by any means but England will have to only bat once if they are to win.
I don't think a batsman should be able to kick the ball away if it looks like it might hit the stumps.
I've seen this shillingford guy play. He is the definition of village. He's a pie chucking off spinner who can't spin it. He has a bowling average of 41. They shouldn't have bothered with a spinner. Get Tino Best in for the comedy value.
360-9, Roach goes. Bresnan is cleaning up the tail. Four-for.
Hang on, why is rampaul no.11??? He's probably their second best batsman after chanderwum. Insane, unless he's injured or something.
Windies all out for 370, Swann with the final wicket. Prior stumped Shillingford.
Might as well take an early lunch. Don't see the point of the batsman or exhausted bowlers playing for 15/20 mins.
Yeah it won't help Strauss.
2-1, Cook goes, great delivery from from Roach
Edit: 3-0, Roach no-balled it! :haha:
England are 8-0 at lunch.
Roach got another wicket off a no-ball. :rose:
:haha:
34-0 currently. Roach has sent two more no-balls down since then, one that got clattered for four. :rose:
He is probably the stupidest player to have played test cricket. What a penis. As soon as it happens the first time, adjust your run-up.
Or resign.
Yes. Definite dimwit. 28 no-balls in his last three Tests apparently. Can't blame poor luck.
43-1, Cook goes for 24. How odd that he goes the ball after a no-ball. Rampaul this time.
Another no-ball for Roach.
Roach bowls one for four.
Aleem Dar just got hit by Shiv throwing the ball back in.
Everyone's favourite villager is leaking runs. Looks like England should score big.
