According to Journos and many players, there is nothing worse in footbal than being spat at.
Yes, a bit of saliva is much worse than having your leg broken, nose broken by en elbow, head injury or even a career threatning injury.
Good honest English mentality etc.
Spitting is vile and if someone spat at me I'm pretty sure my fists would have something to say in return, however on a football pitch I think I'd rather be nursing some damaged pride than a broken leg.
