100k, 150k - what's the difference? let's be honest. if you pay for sky or to go through the gates of your club you are being ripped off anyway. why does it matter to us what they are getting paid? 50k (2-3m) is obscene, so why not double it, triple it all the way.
bendtner/arshavin/whatever **** is off the wage list. why does that matter? where's the difference? it makes us feel better or justifies paying some other **** their old money. yet the tribal in us still yells at the pitch/tv as all of that means nothing in a 'justified' 90 minuted of hypocritical escapism.
we'll win something or we won't but at the end of the weekend, when the alarm rings for most fuckers on a monday morning it's back to the grind, whilst this lot can drift about some turf for a few hours and call it work.
All true. But even in our little rat runs, nobody likes a greedy fucker. And you might say get as much of it while you can. Nothing can be different while that's the attitude though. It has to start and end somewhere, won't be with these fucking footballers, it will have to be with us the plebs. So the only real power we have is not to subscribe to Sky, I hope enough make the choice and these fuckers go hungry. I could tolerate them when they were providing entertainment. Like everything in life, the less you get the more it costs. Football is just a symptom of a wider problem, like when Labour became the Tories. Football reflects what the world has become. Football wages might be a fantasy but let's choose some point somewhere to hold the line so total ****s like Rooney don't end up robbing us for a million a week. A nothing footballer like Fellani (good because he's not as bad as most of the rest) is worth what? Fuck all. Offer him a fiver (in arrears) and at least retain some dignity while he turns us down.
Well, not City or Chelsea. They don't need to. That's what makes it so hard to compete.
Also, at times it's sounded like (and I appreciate some of this is probably press talk/bullshit) that we've failed to get a player for the sake of a million or two which, given the sums we're talking about, seems a bit stupid. But none of us really know what goes on behind the scenes.

Ancelotti approves sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal to fund Bale transfer
Seems the roadblock has been cleared for Higgy to finally come home.
On another note, I can't help bursting into hysterical laughter everytime I see the figures attached to Bale. :haha:
Football. :rose:

JFC no!
This can't be true, not after what our CEO recently trumpeted.
seeing rumours about mertesacker giving up his number 4 for next season. only one player he would give that up for
viera is coming out of retirement
i saw an interesting theory today about why we haven't announced any deals or are taking our time. if you were united, and you saw that we had signed, higuain, fellani etc you would see us as a threat so therefore either charge sky high prices for rooney or just dont sell him as they wouldnt want to strengthen us further so we havnt announced any deals because we want to secure rooney first.
its an interesting theory, i think there could be something to it, if i was united wouldnt sell a rival another striker and strenghten them if they had already bought a world class one, so maybe the club is just wanting to do a mass announcement.
Yes that would be Wenger the famous poker player at his insouiciant best again. Never let the opposition know how you're gonna come 4th again.
I suppose it's possible (as in not completely impossible) we are playing it smart in a bid to line up three £20mill plus players in a single transfer window. Or there's the alternative possibility (as in not necessarily a 100% certainty) the club is trying to nickel and dime it's way to a single, significant signing but only if they can secure the player for an unreasonably low fee and unrealistically low wages. Going back through the evidence of the last decade I'd say yes, Higuain, Fellaini and Rooney are on the way.
:haha:

Wenger smokescreens
Us not signing anyone could be a blessing in disguise.

Arsenal have made a £20m offer for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, 27, which will spark a rival bid from Chelsea.

But 29-year-old Chelsea striker Fernando Torres could partner Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain, 25, in a new-look Arsenal frontline if manager Arsene Wenger gets his way.

You know media have hit absolut rock bottom, when they start making rumours about Torres to Arsenal :D :D
I thought 130 pages of gossip about ZERO transfers was bad over at the online gooner, and yet you lot have surpassed yourselves!
Surely the chat should be about how wenger NEARLY signed higuain, when chelski meet his salary demands and transfer fee.

Have we been heavily linked with Biglia yet?
What about Sebastien Frey?
More chance of Glenn Frey tbh.
Fray Bentos.
I`ll be having a piece of that.
We were linked to one of these guys:
Spurs complete the signings of Alen Halilovic and Tin Jedvag from Dinamo for €20M
Get it sorted quickly then.Quote:
Arsenal fear being hijacked by richer rivals in their bid to sign Wayne Rooney, 27, from Manchester United and 25-year-old Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid.

Classic Arsenal, takes us absolutely months to complete any transfer deals. I see Arsene has reverted to "type" and is baulking at paying the market rate for certain players too.
This is turning into a "typical" Arsenal transfer window.
