Look at the replay of that goal. The way the kid stays onside is probably the most impressive part. Just perfection from start to finish. It's just so nice to see some talent on a modern day football pitch. We watched players like De Brown and GirlyMan, talented players yes, but prepared to be reduced to shitheaps by anti-football managers who place results and cash above performances and entertainment for the fans. But here's a kid who knows what football is supposed to be and fuck it, he's doing it despite the modern game and all its horrific cynicism. It's like a blip after a seemingly terminal flatline. Still life in the old dog.
