But as i’ve just explained to you, City’s four titles in a row where this exactly was Guardiola’s team didn’t just try to squeeze the life out of teams they scored a record amount of goals.
Whilst Guardiola did not invent Tiki Taka, it was a style he perfected with Barca and then worked on an evolved version of with Bayern and Man City (which involved positional flexibility).
Now if your argument is that this style has been rendered ineffective by deep and mid block teams and more direct or counter attacking football than you might have a point.
But his style with City is not even the same as Arteta who has largely adopted the style of the NFL (control the game, use set pieces to win)
