Messi's heat map:
It's always a bit misleading the whole heavy metal football thing. We pick and choose when we do it. Generally, we raise our game, but it's not something we really do every week. Often we don't have to. We've looked alright in flashes this season, but even then we haven't had to do it over 90 minutes. We've had games like Southampton where we blew them away in 30 minutes and strolled for an hour. West Ham we beat 4-0 but again didn't need to properly open up. Even PSG we coasted, and that time it nearly cost us. Our best performance was probably at the weekend and we 'only' got a draw.
It almost doesn't help that, Mane aside, our best players this season are just unassuming and unflashy; the likes of Milner, Wijnaldum, Robertson.
Salah has looked off, but he's not really playing badly. Some of his passing is shite, and you can tell he's lost a bit of confidence, but he's still doing the same things as last season. He almost sums us up in that he's not playing badly per se but it's just clunky and not as fluid as it was for a lot of last season.
I don't think tonight is necessarily a reflection on how we've played so far this season. Tonight we were just shit.

Ach
That's Cripps right?
Spurs what a joke and a shit show of a club. All their momentum going to shit when they are supposed to be going to a new stadium. Most they’ll get in the CL is 9 points, most likely dumped out in the group stage. Still no trophies to show for all their ‘progress’. What an embarrassing club.
If Liverpool are to stand a chance of winning the league they need Salah to have a repeat or someone to have a similar season. They have plenty of goals to spread around but still need a 25+ PL goal scorer as the spearhead, as City do in Aguero.
Liverpool becoming more robust and machine-like, and less gung-ho is probably the most worrying signing yet that they're capable of winning the league. I really think they're legitimate contenders now, although if it doesn't happen this year then it possibly never will under Klopp.
Dutch commentary for the Rakitic goal
