This. RvP to be sorted one way or the other. By doing so the benchmark of what we offer salary wise will be set, be it that he stays.
A departing Robin will add to the kitty, which translates as 'boardroom members' pockets!

As has been said, we'll sell players to get space and try to resolve the Van Persie issue. These may slow down any transfer activity. Having the Euros on will impact that as well.
I can understand we don't want to pay players who don't play for us like the Bendtner's and Denilsons and Velas. Getting rid of them, which is hopefully possible, will allow for others to take their place and free up a bit of money. Those three alone would/should provide £10m in transfer funds and free up £120k per week in wages. I'm almost as excited about getting rid of these reprobates as I am about any potential new signings.
I sudder to think what will happen if RvP doesnt sign. . .
We'd be left with;
A Morrocan who isnt very good,
A Korean who is not sure why he was brought in
and a German who will inherit a team that will give hom a chance to bring in his staving of relegation skills to the fore
Getting rid of some of these players could be a huge problem. Even if we dump them on a free the poxy agents try to hike the signing on bonus and paypacket to reflect the lack of a transfer fee. So much is in favour of the players these days, even the useless ones.
If Arsenal were a person instead of a football club, he wouldnt even want to pay for his own educational advancement. He would sit down, do a cost benefit analysis and conclude that going to trade school would in the long run be more prudent than going to Uni. I mean at the end of the day you can still have a laugh with your university mates in the same pubs and hit on the same Essex broads. Unowhatamean!
RVP wont stay until he sees what our ambition is by buying new quality players, we wont buy new players until we sell RVP and use the City cash to buy 3 Gervinho look-alikes. Failure therefore becomes a self fulfilling prophecy
I strongly think he'll leave. If he were to stay, he could have decided by now. Or he was probably told Arsenal would strengthen and what not, but then he'll see that the same was said to Henry/Cesc. So he may just wait and see if the board actually back it up , if not he'll go. The board are probably satisfied now, they got in Podolski for £10m, will sell RVP for £35m or so, and all they'll see is the profit that they can make. Podolski may be decent at international level, but he's no RVP.

I'm very suspicious of the Podolsi signing at this stage, I suspect he's just a replacement for RVP whom the club feel is going to leave. If he wanted to stay we should have done a deal by now, or we should have told him we need a decision so we can get a replacement in place (maybe we have in Podolski).
It might be they don't want to let the cat out of the bag till the season tickets have been purchased of course.
Renewals deadline passed already. Guess those rushing up the waiting list will be checkin out their finances....
Did you renew?
Sure, Podolski is a very good player and decent signing but we need more than that regardless of whether RVP stays or goes.
I'm prepared to wait and see, but past seasons & gazidis's recent quotes dont inspire me with confidence. What's changed?
Oh and who is saying we wont sign anybody?

Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby believes playing for Arsenal would be a "massive move" but insists he is happy in the Bundesliga for now.
The 21-year-old German has an English father from whom he inherited his love for Everton, but he has revealed his admiration for the Gunners' passing game.
Holtby, who missed out on Germany's Euro 2012 squad due to injury, also said that while he currently wants to concentrate on playing for Schalke, he hasn't ruled out a switch to England one day.
He told Talksport: "You never know, I’m just living every day in the day. I’m in Canada now, I’m enjoying it with my friends I’m just preparing for the new season.
"I just want to give my best for Schalke and you never know. I always said that my aim was to come to the Premier League one day because I love the league and my father is English. Some of my favourite teams are Everton and Arsenal so you never know.
“It [a move to Arsenal] would be a massive move because in footballing terms they have always been my favourite.
"They play nice one touch football, offensive and with young players and a nice stadium so its a nice club. But for now my thoughts are with Schalke and you never know.
“My agent is there for that, I am here to play football. I love playing football, I love winning trophies and that is my dedication and that is my life."
Our next German? And he has GHELism in him.
Could be perfect

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Malaga's 22-year-old Venezuelan striker Salomon Randon, who is reportedly valued at £20m by the Spanish side.

Montpellier have rated Giroud at £50m
He only has a year left on his contract.
RVP must be worth £80-90m then by that comparison.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Nottingham Forest's 18-year-old centre-back Jamaal Lascelles , beating off competition from Arsenal.

Beaten off with a feather no doubt. . .
No thanks to the new GHELkinson! Scum can have him
Things must be bad if we cant even get unknown Pub Teamers anymore even ahead of Spuds
Modric linked with United in many of the rags today.
Rumours are starting to emerge about two Accrington Stanley youth players we have not been linked with. If true, these would be the only two players in world football that haven't been approached by Arsenal. I stress, these are only rumours at this stage - could be total bullshit.
Lewandowski going to Man Utd as well according to the Polish manager
They don't need him, they have Danny Wellshit.
Another youngster sold off, boy this youth project was pretty shit
Besiktas have announced the signing of Arsenal youngster Oguzhan Ozyakup for a fee of €500,000 (£405,000).

paying a minimal for a player, developing him for a couple of years, and then selling him for a major profit while also getting a chunk of his future transfer is shit? You cray
that is actually the youth project tbh, some players come through and make an impact while the rest are sold for major profit.
Major profit? :sarcy:
We've made some profit over the years on these kids I'm sure...must have made at least 9million on Bentley alone with all his transfers and sell-on clauses ;)
Fabregas was a pretty tidy profit too - bought for 500k sold for 35million?
Anelka also not bad - bought for 700k sold for 25million?
I guess it makes the books balance at the end of the day...
You forget we pay many of these youngsters a small fortune in weekly salary, I'm not sure we've made that much profit on most of them.
There's a few we made a nice profit on obviously, but maybe not that many.
all of which is eaten up by the crock of shite in our current team thanks to mismanagement and bad transfer deals by our board and manager. dont be fooled, we might be making large profit but its all eaten up into the pockets of our board and into wengers crap youth project.
