Clichy out too.
Assuming we get all those "Ins" finalised, it'll be very disappointing not to sign a very good central midfielder tomorrow (we actually need two but y'know...). Very disappointing and typical.
Out:
Cesc (inevitable, wish we got a decent fee though)
Nasri (glad the cunt has gone)
Denilson (this is like a new signing for us)
Eboue (another bonus loss)
Vela (need to find another +1 striker)
Traore (got rid of him in the nick of time)
In:
Chamberlain (no idea)
Jenkinson (will be just fine if he's on the pitch with decent and experienced defenders)
Gervinho (hints of a dangerous partnership with Theo)
Santos (no idea but we need somebody, has to be better then Traore and less injury prone than Gibbs)
Mertersacker (Djourou out - can only be a good thing)
Young (lots of shirt sales in Asia, weird fingers which is something we've been missing in the squad)
Schweinsteiger (pure quality, we've needed a dynamic player like this for a long time, chuffed to bits with this signing)
Right, just to recap on todays events. We have signed 3 PLAYERS (I will reserve judgement until at least 10 games have been played each) for an estimated total of £20 million. We had approx £80 million in the kitty from supposed reserves and sales. So in my book that leaves £60 million approximately to either spunk on at least one marquee signing and a shed load of hookers for PHW and his cronies or we have £60 million to spunk on a shed load of hookers for PHW and his cronies.....
Skysports.com understands Per Mertesacker has passed a medical and agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
The giant Werder Bremen centre-back is in London ahead of what is reportedly a £10million transfer on a three-year contract.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger turned his attention to Mertesacker, who has entered the final year of his contract in Germany, after deciding Bolton's Gary Cahill was too expensive.
The move comes in the wake of Sunday's 8-2 humiliation at Manchester United, which convinced Wenger of the need to strengthen his defence.
Mertesacker, 26, has already made 75 appearances for Germany and will therefore bring vast experience with him to Emirates Stadium.
