Carroll back to the Toon
Some reports saying we’ve flogged Iwobi.
Tierney is official

Best Scottish player in history tbh.
Yep, Iwobi’s gone for between £35-40m.
It is, down to Martinelli, Saka and Nelson to stake a claim.
Good money for someone who was never going to be a regular.
I have a feeling we'll use that money to go back in for Zaha in Jan. There's only so long they can keep an unhappy player so I reckon they'll have to compromise on the price in the end.
Really liking our change of approach. We're finally clearing dead wood, flogging the average players for decent money and getting deals done for positions we need. Time will tell of course but Emery cant ask for more given the Europa League budget Raul had to work with.
All in all a good TW. Even though Mistakfi is still here and Xhaka will still get games. Im very ok with what we have done. Get Upmecano in December and we will be good as gold. No more excuses for Emery now.
Kroenke has done well. The fan letter must have stung them over there at KSE. I think I might grow a Walrus tribute mustache.
I think we’ve done some decent business. Signed a good mix of players this summer and turfed out the deadwood as well.
Well done to the club. Came through in the end.
Now let’s fucking do something this season!
Transfer profit.
You can take Arsene out of the Arse...
The only shame is that we will have to wait a while to see our new squad take shape because of all the bloody injuries.
Are Chelsea on a Demba Ba??
Mustafi and Elneny are still here for now, lets hope they will be gone before September 2nd or whenever it is.
I know this is not transfer news but Leroy Sane has suffered an ACL injury.
Surely that means he is out until March or later.
Medicals, not a fitness test.
Medicals only matter so far as insurance anyway.
Chav and Gooners have started leaving reviews on Luiz’s Gabbo restaurant via Google

I had a bery good ebening at this fantastic restaurant. This is a restaurant with great ambishion and we have to enjoy each moment. The owner is a berry good player for us and will help us reach to the top 4.
Decent business this transfer window at long last.
Happy with the signings overall, got some decent players in but also importantly got rid of substandard players like Iwobi, Jenkinson, Koscielny (error prone) etc.
Only shame is that Mustafi and Xhaka are still here.
Getting rid of Iwobi was good business, we probably made back about 60 million overall, so we haven't invested that much, which should leave some money to bring in more quality going forward.
Would have been good to have tried to get a longer term CB with the Iwobi money, but I guess we ran out of time.
There’s still hope of ditching Mustafstrophe - it’s only the English window that’s shut, so we can still sell for a couple more weeks...
£40m for Iwobi :haha:
Actually quite like him, but 40 million?!
Is Luiz actually confirmed yet?
40 million for Iwobi is like paying 1 million for a bottle of tap water! :haha:
In other news, with the great transfer business, I am certain of making a trip to watch a game this season.

Everton :pal:
Gazidis. :haha:
What did he do all this time?
Leicester sign a Praet.
Might be £28m for Iwobi with the rest depending on hitting other markers.
Last season behind Auba and Laca, Ramsey and Iwobi were our two best attacking players and the only ones who could plausibly get better.
I would have preferred to keep Iwobi (at least till January) and see how he paired up with Pepe on the other wing. We probably would have been able to sell him for the same amount in January if we had waited as age is still well on his side.
Anyway the manager is making his bold decisions and I hope their will be no excuses made by anyone for him once this season starts.
His decision making is poor and he's been around long enough now to make his mark, which he hasn't been able to do.
Ultimately, the money is just too good for a player like Iwobi. It was a one time deal and we took it and in the position we're in financially, I'm ok with that.
He's one of our own, so I wish him all the best. :good:
Thinking about the Luiz signing it’s a good short term replacement for Kos. Our defence has been terrible for at least the past decade and Kos has been at the heart of that. While he’s been one of the better ones, we can’t say he didn’t have a fair few mistakes in him. Luiz can do the same but we’re getting someone who knows the league inside out, is experienced, won a lot of medals and doesn’t hide in games.
Very happy window.
What a breath of fresh air.
