It'll be a done deal once he gets back from the Euros.
Which ought to be early Sunday for the French.
Saw the 10 minute cameo he had against the Swedish.
Didn't do anything except miss with a 6 yrd header - still looked better than Shakatak.
I've had a breakdown.
I don't know why but I fear Giroud is going to be Chakma MKII. I don't think I can see us adapting to the needs of a "number 9" striker.
Yeah, even from the little I saw you could tell the Giroud is no Chamakh, he can trap the ball and stuff, just like a real footballer. He looks like a proper no 9 though, a big chap who hangs around in the box. Cannot see him doing well on the wing.
So what then? RvP replacement or understudy? Can't see Rvp playing the vacant playmaker position, but then, there was a time when no-one could see Rvp as a lone frontman. And look how that turned out. Rvp pushed out wide? Hmmm. Why would you push your most influential player out onto the periphery?
Perhaps he could play a version of 4-2-3-1?

Perhaps it still leaves us a bit exposed. When the Netherlands starting with RVP in an attacking midfield position against Portugal, they were getting ripped on the counter because he wouldn't drop back when they lost possession.
