Fucking shame, one of the very few reasons to watch an England match. Still, gives him a rest for the coming season and removes the certainty of him getting a season long injury in the last minute of the last game played for England. Started to show signs of being a genuinely good player when he managed to get on the pitch for us, expect big things of him next season.

I don't think he did connect with studs though. The only contact was from Sterling's trailing leg, and even that might have been his ankle.
