A tactical shit show at the very least. Genuinely not looking forward to the next few games as I fear this is the ground tremor prior to an earthquake. Villa could punish us just as easily as Bayern did and anything but a win in that game and that’s arguably season over when you consider momentum
A disaster in terms of our chances of reaching the semi final but I’m not sure it will have a knock on effect in the league. I think we’ve got everyone’s number and I think we’re still likely to win games not being at our best, one would hope.
European football is just a different kettle of fish because no amount of scouting is going to truly have you prepped for teams you’ve rarely or never faced. It’s more a case of trying to learn on the job while domestically you’re so familiar with every opponent.

A pretty weak defence, but an outfield player can take it so I guess we could make that argument given that Gabriel was in the sort of position a GK is taken from and Raya was more central.

Actually, I've just seen another video on it. The ref blew his whistle and apparently the ref just regarded it as a schoolboy error and just let us get on with it.
