i prefer the latter.
it has more romance.
Maybe my imagination but kind of had the impression that other clubs viewed us as upstarts this summer. E.g. the constant procession of Liverpool connected mouthpieces asking why Suarez would want to move to us (hint: it's money).
After all clubs should know their place on the footballing food-chain, right? People find it easier to accept when some grotesquely wealthy crook simply pisses money up the wall to buy success, because really what can you do against that?
But a club that's self-made? That's like your getting ideas above it's station.
In the last 8 years we've earned our reputation as also-rans, a selling club not a genuine contender.
No-one wants to see an opposition club undergo a paradigm shift. People were shitting their breeks over Tottnumbs summer.
The question is still whether Ozil is just the beginning of our "escalating financial firepower" or just a large but ultimately token gesture. We won't know until January, when the Wenfer Bingo starts rolling again.
The fact Madrid fans were so upset he left is icing on the cake for me.
That's it, if another £30mill heads out the door in January then they can all start bricking their pants.Quote:

But if we sell Ozil and Cazorla that will probably send a different message.
I imagine we will probably do some good business in january, 6 months to the world cup and we can probably find some world class on the bench of madrid/barca/whatever who's desperate to play (with Özil) :)
all depends who is available. i think if anything happens it is likely to be in the summer. we might get a pubber in january or something.
