Most of these papers contain about 0.000001% of truth in them when it comes to transfer so I'd take it all with a pinch of salt.

Endemic of the summer really....because of the billionaire clubs....most of these clubs like Villa know they can hold out for obscene amounts of money for their top players. Man City is the only club in the top four of the premier league that has done significant transfer business (Chelsea have bought in squad players).

Santos has gone. He cancelled the contract with us and signed in brazil.

Have to say, the club have got ruthless with deadwood, and are not concerned with money either. Just get rid. Pay up contracts etc but are just getting rid of them. Good to see

Cross is on tour with Arsenal in Asia, he's effectively our PR machine.

A few things make Suarez coming to us unlikely:

1. RM will eventually bid for him and he'll go there
2. Arsenal are better than Liverpool but we're not going to win anything so why come to us?
3. Would Liverpool sell to an English club? They don't need the money and Suarez still has years left on his contract. He's going to have to go on strike for him to force a move to us. Wouldn't put it past him but its another obstacle. Liverpool sold Torres to Chavs but I can't see them doing it again.

Oh and the most obvious reason.... Arsenal don't sign star players

We've done a good job getting rid of dead wood this summer, we haven't had a problem with that, but then I guess we're improving profits by doing so so that's probably the greater priority that improving the side.
