On we go to City
Chesney - best keeper in the league now.
Defence - very solid, unspectacular, businesslike, effective. What a fucking relief. Clean sheet!
Midfield - mixed, great ball by Song for the goal but he played twice as many bad ones. But they ran all game.
Attack - Poor, Theo and Gerv need to sort themselves out, always busy but crucial ball or decision making always wrong, RvP's worst game fo the season but he can still score that goal.
Moyes - over-rated.
Wenger - on we go. The guy could have collapsed but he didn't and here we are!
Webb - fuck off. Not as bad as usual but still stopped play for a boot. Must be having a gay affair with Coleman.
Good result but we must improve against City otherwise we're going to be hammered.
Was always going to be a tough game but we won.
1-0 to the Arsenal. No need for anything else.
DisHonorable shoutouts to
1. Arteta, played shit the whole game, if Jack is unavailable then have Coquelin to come in after 70 mins
2. Walcott aka walnut aka peanut brain. He should be called aside and advised to try out for the london 2012 100m team. More chance of getting an OBE from athletics than footie
3. Webb, a shit referee w/o a doubt
4. Wenger for not substituting Arteta
He'll go unnoticed unless our defence is as shit as it was against Fulham at that away game Mannone was brilliant. Didn't have many (any?) shots to stop but was very good at dealing the ball from free-kicks/corners under considerable threat from Fellaini and Cahill. The goalkeeper's inability to do that has cost us many points in previous season.
It was a very good performance in the first half and an average one in the second. We really should've finished it in the first half...a 2 or 3-0 lead wouldn't have been flattering. A brilliant pass by Song and amazing finish by Van Persie probably capped off the most one-sided 1-0 win for some time.
Not so sure about getting hammered. Everton wasn't really opening us up. For once, I'd say we don't have to worry about the defence. As usual, we're depending on RVP for goals and Song/Theo for assists. Ramsey needs to contribute more from the middle and I'd say the same for Arteta.
gods of football have a sense of humor, one nil to the arsenal.
a superb volley from rvp. he's golden.
That was a stunning goal. Great pass from Song and stunning finish.
Turned what should have been a 5-0 in to a nervy 1-0.
A win is a win though.
Arsenal .
Koscielny was pretty awesome again, as was Szczesny who took their pub team hoofs out of the air every time.
Song .
RVP .
Yeah to be fair to the defence they've improved a fair bit recently (although I still worry about Djourou) The lack of creativity from midfield is a problem though. Song's meant to be the defensive midfielder but he seems to be the only one trying to carve open the opposition defence. Arteta especially needs to do more, because at the moment I don't see what he's contributing tbh.
Need to sleep on this and come up with a response in the morrow. . .but happy with the win, someone said 22 points out of last 24, cant be bad. . .tiugh away games appriaching
Arteta is a workman, a link, I just don't get why he's getting caned by so many. The guy is everywhere on the pitch, he plays the odd stinker of a ball but who doesn't? The point is, he helps us keep possession and you need the ball to do anything else. If we couldn't have Parker then this guy will do just fine. And he's not looking to leave at the end of the season, a big plus.

Even inspired the commentator to pick up some English. Fantastic strike.
and that looks goos atm. well, if it wasn't for spuds being second :O

http://arsenalist.com/video/?id=xmw5aa : Brilliant interception and pass by Arteta to create a clear opening. A simple pass from Theo to Ramsey and Ramsey'd have a tap-in.
Ramsey did something very similar when Gervinho was put through one-on-one.
http://arsenalist.com/video/?id=xmw89x - great piece of skill and shot from Walcott..it goes in against Chelsea, but it didn't today.
The point being you can clearly see why the team picks itself atm. Everyone's doing their bit. Just because there's a mistake in finishing, Arteta's interception and pass through to Walcott isn't considered, and Ramsey's interception and pass to Gervinho isn't considered. Song's fantastic ball fell to Van Persie who finished a more difficult pass - so that's what sticks in the mind.
Solid performance all-round...but care needed in finishing off openings but otherwise good stuff.
If that's his contribution...fine. We need workers. But he needs to add more to his game in the future because Frimpong and Coquelin are looking for first team opportunities and I think they'll get his spot in the near future. If he worked hard and had a creative edge to his game, his spot would be safe for few years. But I think Frimpong and Coquelin work their socks off as well and could possibly add more energy. Song's spot is safe but I can't say the same for Ramsey and Arteta. We will see whose dropped when JW is fit.
And Spuds are third, anyway.
Just saw RVP's goal. :yikes:
Wenger: 'The problem in January is that we lose Chamakh and Gervinho but we have Arshavin and Chamberlain who can come in. We have Park as well, his adaptation period is over, we will see more of him as well'
'Adaptation period'
Now we must observe the waiting period once more.
Wenger said he was 'ready' to play after the League Cup game against Bolton.
Maybe he's been 'on the edge' in terms of fitness.
Ju may have been travelling with sweat rather than the needed petrol so far.
Good performance, important 3 points.
Top 4 again.
Rvp is god! Walnut n Gervinho are garbage.. theo more than Gervinho. Play AOC rather than theo.
Feels like people are starting to understand just what we've missed (and to some extent what we still miss) ever since Adebyor left. No idea if we'll be lucky enough to keep him fit for the season (RVP already looks burnt out) but I'll be fucking pissed if we don't splash out on another world class striker this Jan. We're fucked without another.
