No Song for this.
Djourou picked up a knock so will hopefully miss this.
Villa are very poor but we are notoriously shite after a defeat.
Villa will have Bent and Agbonlahor back
We'll have Kos at the back
2-1 Villa imo

Nah I can see us actually winning this one I just feel we will be too strong for them and grind out a 1-0 win Van Persie (who else) scoring the winner.
This is a must-win. Not a cliched must-win™, but going to Villa Park isn't one of the expected tough games nowadays.
I think Coquelin should play.
Djourou has a groin problem and could be out for 3 weeks
SirChesney
Koscielny Mertesacker Vermaelen Miquel
Arteta Coquelin Rosicky
Walcott RVP Oxlade-Chamberlain
When is Gibbs due back? Rosicky in cos with Coq being a youngster and Ramsey being in poor form, Rosicky can help out with his experience.
Oxface in for Gervinho is a no brainer.
Well rumour has it Gibbs could be back for this match as he's in training atm but Wenger didn't want to rick him today as not fully fit.
I hope we score more goals than they do.
Should be very interesting to see whether he picks Frimpong or Coquelin for this game...or whether he goes with someone like Rosicky/Benayoun and urges them to sit back.
I would pick Coquelin...he's the safe bet for a 7/10 performance. With Frimpong, you get the feeling a 9/10 is just as likely as a sending off in the 34th minute.
Do Arteta's yellows for Everton count?
http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/players/profile.statistics.html/mikel-arteta#clubsTabsDisciplinary
This suggests he's suspended for this game as well.
Arteta was our holding player today, so maybe he will play Rosicky or Benayoun.
Miquel has been very good every time he has played for Arsenal. A few jitters occasionally, but on the whole looks composed and not out of place at this level at all. Grimandi on the bench as cover?
It would nice to see Ju or OAC involved, as we're going to need them soon with the African players going and the injury tidal wave moving towards the midfield and attack.
Can't we go one fucking month without a third of the squad dead? :banghead:
Are Villa's cm's any good? If so, I'd play Frimpong instead of Rosicky. Tell him to do the same job he did against Man City.
If not, then I'd play Rosicky/Benayoun.
1-1
Where is Diaby?
I suspect this is a stupid question.

This is the site that will give a definitive answer, well, when they can be bothered to update it. Sky don't usually miss that kind of thing, so possibly not.

We must put them under pressure from the off. Villa are a side out of form and if we can get the crowd on their backs early on, it'll make things much easier.
2-1 to us.
We do like giving out of form sides a boost.
Wenger said the full-backs are 'not very close' to returning in today's interview. No separate mention of Gibbs. Only a couple of days ago he was in contention for this game.
Died again I reckon.
Gibbs was The Third Man.
He then became George Kaplan.
Recently, he changed his name to Keyser Soze.
He's now dead.
Ok, so who the fuck plays at RB now that Djourou is dead?
Kos at RB, Squillaci moves into the middle? Seems the most likely. I don't think Wenger will play Miquel.
Fucking thing sucks IMO.
But some good news:
Orbinho Orbinho
I can confirm Mikel Arteta has four bookings this season after today. He is not suspended for the Aston Villa game.

Arteta should pick up a yellow for time-wasting or summin against Villa to get his suspension out of the way while we play Wolves or QPR at home.Orbinho Orbinho
Arteta got a yellow card in the Carling Cup for Everton, but was not booked in the league for them. He has 3 yellows for Arsenal.
OAC to replace Walcott and we will be sorted there. Play Frimpong as RB IMO! He will deench bitches up!
Villa were destroyed by Bellamy, Suarez and Downing turning them inside out, so OAC is as Must Start™.
Coquelin has played at RB in the past (for both our reserves and Lorient) so that would be an option rather than Frimpong if it became that desperate.
Which it will, because we're cursed.
Miquel has been ahead of Squillaci in the squad all season and has played a few games now, so it will be him at LB, with The Best Defender In League™ switching to RB.
Vermaelen at right back? Can't see it happening tbh. Keep him with Mertesacker in the middle, Miquel as you said on the left and unfortunately due to lack of options, play Kos at rb. Hopefully he'll have the City game out of his mind by then and go back to the form he showed for a couple of games earlier this month and not the previous 15 months of retard shiteness.
I think Le Coq will play at right back for this, he did it a few times for Lorient when he was on loan there
Gawd only knows they're due a win against us at Villa Park! In fact, Man Yoo have beaten us more often at Villa Park in the last 12 years than the Villans have....
They were entirely woeful against Liverpool yesterday. They seemed to be divisions apart.
Having said that, expect Big 'Eck to be the Big Bastard Game Raiser he can be.
2-1 to Villa :(
Lawros predictionQuote:
I've been to see Villa a few times now and they haven't performed on the day. There was no Darren Bent or Gabriel Agbonlahor, but Liverpool strolled past them quite easily on Sunday.
Arsenal were extremely unlucky against Manchester City and could still have pinched a draw from the game.
There has been a lot written about Arsenal with phrases such as "this is the end" and "sack the manager" but things can change a lot from game to game. The Gunners are now looking in much better shape than they did at the start of the season.
Prediction: 0-2
He could have done better as could have Song and Miquel let Silva go but it all started cos of Kos being out of position plus hes shit whilst the other 3, 2 have been great for us and the other is coming up through the ranks so gets a bit of leeway
Diaby :bow:Quote:
Aston Villa were well beaten in their last game against Liverpool but should be able to welcome back Gabriel Agbonlahor and Darren Bent as they look to end a poor in spell in front of goal that has yielded just two goals in their last five Premier League games.
Injury-hit Arsenal are short of defenders with Johan Djourou, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, Bacary Sagna and Andre Santos all sidelined, so youngster Ignasi Miguel will be expected to play after featuring against Manchester City. Alex Song is unavailable as he is serving a suspension for picking up five bookings.
DID YOU KNOW?
•The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-1 win for the away side at Emirates Stadium.
•Aston Villa have had 71 shots on target in the league this season, the fewest of all Premier League teams.
•Before Arsenal’s defeat to Manchester City in their last game, they had gone eight matches unbeaten, with seven of them being victories.
•Robin van Persie has scored 33 goals in his last 33 games in the Premier League in 2011.
•This fixture has never seen a red card since the Premier League began.
•In the last 10 meetings between the sides, Aston Villa have only won once, though that was at the Emirates.
•In the history of meetings between the sides, Abou Diaby (pictured right) is the top scoring current player with four goals – though he is some way behind Thierry Henry who has scored 10.
•In all meetings between the two sides in the Premier League there have been 92 goals – with Arsenal scoring 61 of them.
•Aston Villa have scored just twice in their last five games whilst Arsenal have only conceded three in their last five.
Till our FB's come back alive, I'd like to see us tinker with our back 4 a little. Have Coq in the middle with Arteta and Ramsey. At the back, I'd like to see..
Song---Per---Kos---Vermaelen
This'd look better than having DJ on the field. While Miquel looks pretty good, I'd like to have him sheilded a bit.
Btw, when is Sagna back?
Song at RB?
He's one of the top CM's in the league, keep him where he is.
I recall Song playing at RB once before.
It did not turn out well.
In fact, you could say it was more disastrous than MO's face.
Coquelin at RB instead of Miquel at LB, so Koscielny goes back into the middle alongside Per and Vermaelen at LB? Frimpong in the middle then alongside Rosicky and Arteta (give Rambo a rest). AOC/Benayoun, Gervinho to support Park (RVP on bench)?
Squillaci. :partytime:
Don't really see why Miquel shouldn't play right-back. Did alright against Adam Johnson on the other side. Unless he's left-footed?
Miquel--Mertesacker--Koscielny--Vermaelen
Should be ok. The multiple changes elsewhere will probably be saved for the home games. RVP can shit on Villa and have the day off against QPR. Or come on and bail us out in the second half, more likely.
Il probably go to the QPR game so RVP better not be rested for that.
Rest him for this if he needs to be rested at all
"Zat Knight's there!" :cloud9:-ish
