Fucking awful game.
Good result.
Christmas points :woohoo:
Happy with the points, but if tightwad doesn't get his wallet out in January we can forget about 4th place.
Teams before would bave crumbled after losing. this team fights till the end, dont give up and if they score then they go fuck it, we'll score another one
Happy for the win. Not sure that'll be grinding one out though, fluking it out.
Anyway though. Benayoun.
Me.
We were brutal, but we won!
And I'm up 35 big ones!
Experience
Benayoun
Must use those experience midfielders as a starter. Ramsey has poor for weeks, Frimpong is not ready yet.
Stuff of Champions tbh, well in our case 4th placer's.
Must get Arshavin to fuck off ASAP, Benayoun and Chamberlain our two attacking subs from now on.
Desperately need Wilshere back for that extra quality in midfield as no one we have (apart from Song perhaps) can grab the game and make it their own at the moment. Wasteful play today.
Need to buy in January or we're fucked, good win though.
Rosicky looked good when he came on
Ramsey has to be dropped. Arteta ineffective as usual and Gervinhos worst game for us. At least hes usually trying (albeit failing) to take people on in other games but today he was just piss poor.
No one really stood out. We were shite but we won. Stuff of champions
Bring on Wolves*
*if it goes ahead. If not then bring on RPQ
The usual suspects were crap as usual, Theo, Gervinho add to that Ramsey playing like Stevie Wonder (no not the harmonica). Hope Vermaelen is Ok.
Good result, Anything that makes that awful Scotsmans life more miserable is good by me. Coq did ok but must hate that position. Frimpong is not ready or not good enough. gave the ball away almost every time. more Rosicky or better still Benny.
Was tv 5 hurt bad or just a knock
3 points but not really happy with our performance . We made Villa look like a great team . Frimpong showed he is not ready yet . Coquelin could have been better in the middle . Shame Ox did not have a cameo . But the two subs ( Benayoun and Rosicky ) did ok and won the game . Walcott need a rest to sort himself out . he looks too predictable and can hardly beat his man . Right back still an nightmare . A decent team could have given us more trouble . But a win is a win . Well down boys .
Given that we have 5 full backs out, Wilshire missing and the only players capable of hauling us back being shattered, I'm pretty pleased.
Da Arsaaan, gotta spend innit.
An away win at Villa is normally a great result. So I'm happy. But we were absolutely awful and just didn't get going at all...which kinda makes the result feel better. Like finding a tenner under the sofa.
Song was badly missed. Pretty much everyone played poorly. Rosicky added some much needed urgency but even then we were struggling.
Typically, Benayoun is at the right place at the right time. A must keep.
The worst game I've seen this season. Truly terrible.
Only Koscielny and Szczesny were decent.
Ramsey should be replaced by Rosicky or Benayoun.
Frimpong and Coquelin were poor, but Coquelin was in an unfamiliar position so can be excused.
It was genuinely sad to see Arshavin come on and ramble around like a 90 year old tramp with no idea where he is. Just sell him now. It's beyond pathetic.
Pathetic performance but an important result. However, if we don't improve there's no way we'll get 4th spot. I rate Ramsey but he's been shocking recently. Arteta lacks any creativity whatsoever, and without Song our midfield looked devoid of any spark or ingenuity whatsoever. Frimpong is nowhere near ready at the moment, as his technical level is too low. Gervinho is woefully out of form or simply a poor player, and needs dropping. Walcott doesn't contribute enough in general play, but at least he gets a lot of assists.
We need to buy in January, and desperately.
We were poor but a wins a win seen us lose quite a few of these games so not complaining :)
Arshavin shouldn't be involved anymore. I do wonder if Wenger is getting him to play in the hope that it increases his profile and price. Ramsey needs to be dropped as well, too slow and lacks cutting edge.
Good result though, but other people need to start scoring goals.
Ha ha ha Villa cunts
Also, Hutton is down there with Paul Robinson (the Bolton edition) as the scurge of the Prem.
I'm baffled at how overnight Ramsey has become a first team starter. He has potential but he is not ready yet to start games week in week out, plus he's not an attacking midfielder, he's a deeper box to box cmf.
Rosicky/Benayoun should be starting as the most advanced midfielder, experience should win out on this particular issue.
Think Arteta kept the ball well. He clearly didn't want to try risky passes ahead to players like Frimpong, who was positionally woeful and unable to trap passes under any modicum of pressure. You could see the ambition in his passing was raised when Rosicky and Benayoun came on - he trusts those players to have basic technique. He was easily the best of the midfield three today. He played pragmatically, but his sidewards and backwards passes were important to relieve pressure. It's much different to when Denilson used to do it (because Arteta's technique is superior and his work ethic is fantastic).
Coquelin did well in the second half, didn't dive in as much but was poor positionally and made forward runs when they weren't necessary, leaving us short at the back. Koscielny and Szczesny were brilliant. Thought that in the tough opening period Mertesacker was excellent, anticipating well. Typically, their goal will be classed as his error, when it was a combination of a poor Vermaelen header along with his indecision.
Song's return (and rest) vs. Wolves is a welcome one and thankfully we didn't drop points in his absence. A vital part of the team. As many have said Gervinho wasn't involved as much today, neither was Theo (but less so), as Frimpong in the middle dropped the tempo and opportunity to play the quick, early pass into those two.
Just seen the score.
My reaction is: :patrice:
