Can't wait for this.
Just hoping for an away goal or 2.
Wasn't sure how Milan are these days. Top of Serie A. An attacking threat on paper. Gattuso and van Bommel though? Christ.
We need to frustrate them like Spurs did last year so they get all petulant, then pick them off.
Hopefully Ibra has one of those days where he can't be fucked.
Inzaghi still exists as well. :haha:
A world class pub teamer there.
Inzaghi, how did I miss him on the team list? :haha:
A goalhanging disease of a player.
They have a really big squad. How many midfielders do you need?
Hopefully Seedorf plays.
Seedorf is better than anyone we have so hope he doesnt
If our midfield puts in the effort, we'll win.
If Song continues to put in his recent (excepting last week) bumbling performances, our defence will come under unnecessary pressure.
Walcott will probably look world-class on Wednesday.
Get Theo and AOC to run at their defence.
Fuck the Wengeritis pass pass pass crap.
Milans oldies would love it if we did that.
Hit them with pace and hit them hard and we should be ok
He must be like 47 by now.
Great player. Shame he never tried his luck in this country but dont blame him.
Is Flamini fit for this?
Would be good to see him
Is it worth starting Gibbs for this without him seeing any game time for god knows long?
Or play Sagna LB and Coq RB.
Keep Sagna where he is
Dont disrupt our defence any more than necessary
Coq can play LB cant he?
Play Gibbs though
Is Henry available for the CL game against Milan? Or is he flying back to NY this weekend?
A friend ist trying to get me tickets for that game
Yeah Henry is available but expect another 20 min cameo at best.
We don't have many disappointing European performances these days - apart from against English opponents, I suppose. Even when we get knocked out by Barca, we are slightly unlucky and battle hard. Milan appear to be topping the table so they can't be bad.
I think, over the 180 minutes, we are favourites because we can squeeze them out by maintaining a high tempo. The English league obviously isn't the best for footballing ability or technique but the only area we probably do top is physical exertion. Our players are able to cover a silly amount of ground and win physical battles relative to other countries. We have to be brave and press hard from the start, force a high tempo and hope to maintain that throughout the 90 minutes. It'll be very difficult with the quick run of fixtures but with athletes like Ramsey in the side, we have a great chance.
The first 60 minutes should be about relentless pressure. Don't be afraid to concede, just bomb forward. If we get goals, great. If not, no worries. They will be knackered - guaranteed. On 60 minutes, look to slow things down and pick them off. Bring on Thierry and Arshavin/Rosicky. The pace of Walcott and Oxlade cannot be expected to last but it won't necessarily be needed; gaps will exist for midfield runners (Arteta, Ramsey) or, more likely, Van Persie to fill his boots. Just don't get intimidated and stick to the game plan. Over 180 minutes, we'll be though.
We should defend more not to concede a lot and attack less to get an away goal thus :
Schesney
Sagna Koscielny Vermalean Gibbs
Song Coquelin
Arteta
Walcott OX
RVP
Bring Rosicky and Ramsey on when we are safe to push for more goals
Theo Walcott will be his useless fucking self in this as AC play a really deep back line, due to them being older than Rolf Harris
any of you coming to Milan or already being here?

Interesting, Milan have been ravaged by injuries of late as well. Oh and i ddint know van Bommel played for them, i hate that curly haired motherfucka

Gibbs is the obvious candidate to start on the left and Wenger has no qualms about handing the 22-year-old his comeback in such a big game.
"To be a player is to come in and show how good you are when you get your chance," said the manager.
"I believe physically and mentally he is ready. But if I start him, which is not decided yet, I do not want to put too much pressure on him because we want a good team performance. Gibbs is a good player.
"I will find the most natural [solution], which means I will put Vermaelen back in the middle. Gibbs looks to be ready so I might look to start him but I have not decided completely yet."
Sagna--------Vermaelen------Koscielny---------Gibbs
-----------Arteta-------Song-------Ramsey------------
Walcott------------Van Persie------------Chamberlain
Almost certainly looks like that will be the line-up. Every defender in the back-line is rapid. Ramsey will run full-pelt for 95 minutes. Song and Arteta are 'the brains'. Don't worry about scoring, just WUM the fuck out of them by pressing at ridiculous levels. Even then, they'll tire much sooner.
That Wenger meme doesn't carry the same WUM impact as the other one.
There are different levels of the WUM. The above is for saying he'll play Gibbs and then sticking Djourou in the team. Or leaving Oxlade out and playing Arshavin.
When he brings out the big guns; "we only sign super quality" and gets Bischoff, or subs off a player having a match-winning impact,he pulls out the
we'll win and win well
Has anybody else watched the Sky Sports News Special Report on Seedorf? What a man.
Feeling nervous about this which is a good sign I guess. We are capable of getting something out of the game tonight. Really hoping the team show up with the right attitude.
