The publication of Nick Hornby's football memoir Fever Pitch 20 years ago is often seen as the point when middle-class interest in football began. How far has the game changed since then?

Italia 90 and Euro 96 had far a bigger cultural impact.
Euro 96.
The summer I became footie addicted.
fuckin addicts.
Good book fever pitch. Its annoying that ppl who support other teams just call it a book about an arsenal fan. Its about fanaticism in general. Its also hilarious.
Watching the film brings it all back to me as if it were yesterday.
oh,i was reading it by the pool today, good read.
i'll be honest, i can't stand nick hornby as a writer......think fever pitch is mawkish nonsense.
Read some of the book, got bored.
Watched the film. Typical Colin Firth bore
I think I was in the plimsole on the Sunday after(cant remember I was so pissed) for the parade. I remember these 2 old boys watching the game, they were also very very drunk. They were actually betting on the game as to who would win, while watching it back on VHS video tape. One of the best days of my life that Sunday, 250,000 gooners having the time of our lives.
If you think that was good, wait until we seal 3rd this season!
