Will it have Morris Dancers?
I hope not. Had lunch with a few people at work the other day one of whom I didn't really know but she's going to be in the crowd scene in the meadow. She has to have a picnic then play football then watch some cricket.
She said there are some boring bits but some really good bits too. Looking forward to it.
Can't wait to see what we put on. Bejing was pretty spectacular so it's a hard act to follow.
Need to get that guy from the Euro 2012 opening ceremony tbh
How many London buses will there be?
I'm going 12.
A lad I know went to the rehearsal last night, apparently it's awesome, despite the cliches.
They had to cut it down quite a bit cos of all the problems
Opening ceremonies are usually boring as fuck and thus i rarely watch them. Expecting this to be the same but tis the only thing of the Olympics i can watch live so might as well give it a go
Becks :bow:Quote:
Former England captain David Beckham will have a role in Friday's London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony.
Beckham, 37, would not divulge any details of his role as organisers try to keep the ceremony events secret.
He said: "It is some kind of role in the opening ceremony which I am honoured to be involved in because, obviously, I was involved in the start process with this seven years ago.
"And for Seb [Coe] to have kept me involved, I'm very proud of that."
Beckham was left out of Stuart Pearce's Team GB's football squad for the Games.
Ceremony has become a Must Watch
Pearce
I assume you have express, written permission to use the London 2012 logo?
Yes :ninja:
Why is it on 9-12 and how the fuck are my kids supposed to stay awake for that? The single greatest and most historic athletics competition in the world in our country for a once in a lifetime shot at seeing it and they decide to put it on late to satisfy the american TV audience.
That is just so un-British they should be shot in the head
Dunno, record it or full screen it on iPlayer?
This is true. No chance of a quick trip to America then?
Bottles of coke all night.
It doesn't start till 9? Really?
yup, there is a build up programme on for but 28 hours before hand but the actual ceremony starts at 9. Will watch it till the countries start coming out then might as well go to bed.
"and here the 4 brave athletes from...erm....erm....and here is China!"
9pm is perfect for me.
Olympics.
London.

Still at least he managed to get something received this time...
BBC's programme starts in a few minutes.
2 minutes in, and I have already long left behind my "what the fuck is this?" limit..
Pomp and pageantry.
Oh god, Lineker and Barker.
Edwards  Making his first pitch to replace Dixon?
Huw Edwards.
He gets a break from his yearly commentaries.
Oh please let Jeremy Hunt destroy that bell!
'Now Tudor's gone down for Newcastle....."
Yeah, seen a few of these before.
Ah BBC have George back
"We don't know a lot about them."
