BADMINTON
I bring bad news. Britain's outside medal hopes, Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier, are out of the mixed doubles after losing 11-21 21-17 21-14 in just over an hour to German pair Michael Fuchs and Birgit Michels, with Fuchs celebrating by throwing himself to the floor and screaming loudly in delight.
Day 2 is just like Day 1.
Watching some Indians in the mixed doubles. Don't think I've ever seen such obvious animosity between playing partners. No words exchanged, just the female player basically facepalming every time the dude messes up. Which is quite often, as he's crap. Quite funny - they've basically given up. Getting a beating from the Danes. Badminton's a good watch.
Local boy Raj Ouseph tied at 1-1 against some Swedish bloke. See-saw match. Bloody love badminton.

Wang of China is destroying Wang of USA.
And she wins 21-8 21-6.
Wacist :sulk:
GB man playing a Guatemalan in the singles.
Winning 15-10
Wins the opening game 21-12
Ouseph bottles the second game and loses 21-17
Rajiv Ouseph lost.
That ends GB's participation in badminton
We're awesome.
Seems to be the recurring theme when it comes to any racquet sports that requires fast reaction and quick thinking imo, especially badminton and table tennis. T’was particularly hilarious in the later stages of table tennis seeing how different qualifiers from various parts of the world were actually just Chinese donning different national colours and thus became a smug contest of “my Chinese is better than yours” type of thing.
In other shocking news, it appears that China has secured both gold and silver in women’s table tennis, thanks to the miracle work of their phenomenal coach, Do Ping. (joke)
And if they aren't from China, the players will have coaches that are. It's like the Archery, South Korean coaches everywhere!
First the Olympics... then the World!
Apparently there were matches last night where both teams tried to lose on purpose because a defeat meant they avoided the favourites in the next round.
The match was littered with deliberate errors and the crowd started booing.
An investigation is being launched today.
Yep 8 players have been charged with 'not trying hard enough'

Awful Italians
Edit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19074013 video clip on this link. They were repeatedly serving straight into the net :haha:
:sulk:
Pretty disgraceful.
I'm going this afternoon. Me
Olympic oath.
Meaningless apparently.
It seems all 8 have been disqualified :pal:
:pal:
Serves them right. They could have at least tried to make it less obvious.
:haha:
Good stuff.
Shit. . .serves them right. . .the same thing should happwn to Fatshavin

Indonesia and South Korea have launched an appeal against disqualification of badminton players at London 2012.
:lol:Quote:
Speaking before the verdict, Korea's coach Sung Han-kook said: "The Chinese started this. They did it first."
An admirable defence.
Brilliant! :haha:
Apparently those disqualified were top teams in contention for medals as well, with the Chinese pair being the top seed
Does this mean that team GB is back in the mix somehow? :o
Pity it wasn’t arranged it such a way that any of the 4 were playing ours in the last match. I would’ve applauded them with a standing ovation as a very sporting gesture towards their host.
South Korea's appeal has been rejected and Indonesia withdrew theirs.
Once again, :pal:
Was good this evening although the 3 games going on at once makes it a bit confusing and the atmosphere is a bit watered down by the fact that people are all watching different games.
Good fun though.
Harsh on the disqualification
No different to when football teams play out a draw
Denmark win the mixed doubles bronze medal match.
