Never a stroll in the park when we face those inbreds.
Consecutive draw for us.
3-0
did nigeria's supersport 5 have to boycott this humiliation?
Stoke are utterly dreadful away from home, this really should be a win.
can we stick unreal in or is he unavailable?
:beer:Win. . .Nacho to link with Pringles for the goals. . .(sorry not very funny :getcoat: )
I hope we've go him in time for his best before date and that he hasn't gone stale.
Bif hat-trick in this.
He should practice his close-range finishing from left-wing crosses. Podolski could have had about 35 assists in the last few weeks.
We probably shouldn't start Diaby if Whelan is playing.
Come on Errrrrrrsnal.
Arteta back.
Coq still out.
Vermaelen a doubt.
Gibbs retired.
Nacho has to play, we're fucked otherwise.
Lawro predictsQuote:
Arsenal v Stoke
The funny thing about Arsenal's deadline day signing of Malaga left-back Nacho Monreal is that it was forced upon them by the injury to Kieran Gibbs, but Monreal is actually a really good player.
Monreal has won seven caps for Spain and is in their squad to face Uruguay on Wednesday
It is typical Arsene Wenger, though, because he would not have signed Monreal if Gibbs had not picked up an injury this week.
The Gunners came back well to get a draw against Liverpool on Wednesday after being all over the place defensively and that is still a concern. I've already spoken about what QPR's new signing Chris Samba can offer teams - he is not the sort of defender who can pick a pass but he would have suited Arsenal down to the ground.
I don't see Stoke giving them too many problems at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, though. The Potters just don't win that many away games and they were also a bit lucky to escape with a draw against Wigan in midweek.
Potters boss Tony Pulis did not do too much business in the transfer window but he has bought young Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland, who I think will turn out to be a really good signing. Will that mean Asmir Begovic gets sold in the summer? Possibly, but they have got Butland to come in and, if he achieves his potential, then they have got a real talent there.
Lawro's prediction: 3-0
15-0 for us.
Going to put the layers on and the sunglasses for this one :cold:
Tony Pulis is a ****.
So are all the stoke players and fans.
Lets smash these plebs.
Starting line-up:
-----------------Szczesny-----------------
Sagna---Mertesacker---Koscielny----Monreal
--------Wilshere---Arteta---Diaby----------
Walcott-----------Giroud----------Chamberlain
subs: Mannone, Jenkinson, Santos, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski
No Cazorla or Podolski? Interesting.
Oxlade's only in to compensate for the 'British core' presence now that Gibbs is out.
Nacho.
Stoke Starting XI vs Arsenal: Begovic; Shotton, Shawcross (c), Huth, Wilkinson; Walters, Cameron, Nzonzi, Whelan, Etherington; Crouch
That's a team of worldies right there.
unreal starts
defence instantly looks so much better.
cazorla with a well earned rest.
Very foolish team selection. Verging on idiotic. This isn't even a case of resting players for the CL, it's just Wenger being a fucking dick. Podolski was just starting to string some performances together. So why bench him. Cazorla, whether he's hot or cold, is still one of the few players we have who can pass and retain the ball. Diaby again, just nonsense. Playing him is playing right into Stoke's hands. I hope we don't image for a second we can compete with them physically. And then a wasteful Walcott and off-form Ox on the wings, why take the risk with both? Play Walcott or play Ox, but both? Can't say anything about Monreal yet, but Jenkinson must have stolen Wenger's hubcaps or something. He's been our most committed defender this year. If not against Stoke then when will he ever play? Very unlucky.
Santos on the bench. Just fuck off. Why? Jenkinson could cover for either FB. So why have that fat bastard on the bench unless there's some fucked up plan to bring him on.
Just shit. Wenger is starting to make me sick with his refusal to stick to the fucking tried and tested principles of football.
We are the new benchmark for on paper quality™. The spuds have nothing on us.
Soccer Saturday have Stoke lining up as a back five.
Absolute filth.
Some options on the bench at least if things don't go to plan.
As there's nothing to suggest otherwise, 1st half rubbish and better in the 2nd. Result 2-1 Arsenal Etherington 1st goalscorer
'ello!
Does anyone have decent links?
Alan Parry is commentating. :scarf:
:(
Oxocube shoots, wide.
Theo cuts it back, nobody on to it.
