I really liked Bergkamp.
There I said it.
Bergy
DB 10
Henry - Bergkamp :cloud9:
Whilst I still enjoy watching Henry, and my first ever favorite player was Liam Brady, my all time favorite is Dennis Bergkamp. He was a genius by himself, and yet his partnerships also brought out the best from his teammates.
Dennis > Thierry every day of the week.
Damn his phobia though!!
Decent player that Bergkamp.
Bergkamp... What a Guy, and certainly my #1 Player of all time.
The Guy needs to come back to Arsenal in some capacity!
Probably for the best.
Deleted it but he has to live on :p
Magical player and always a joy to watch. The game has changed so much. Aren't many world class players out there that have the same sort of finesse about them.
bendter cant read
A book from god to man.

A little snippet on his flying fears from his book:
Quote:
'It made me feel so awful and I began to develop such an aversion to it that it suddenly dawned on me: "I don't want to do this any more", writes the 44-year-old.'It got so bad I would look up at the sky during away games to see what the weather was like. Were there any clouds coming? Sometimes I was preoccupied by the flight home while I was playing football. It was hell.'
He adds: 'I've flown countless times in large planes, small ones, tiny ones. At Ajax, I once flew in a minuscule plane over Mount Etna near Naples when we got into a terrible air pocket – in terms of flying, I've seen and done it all and I'm simply not flying again. Ever.'
The Dutchman - who spent 11 years in north London before retiring in 2006 - also revealed that he would waive extra money when signing new contracts because of his aerophobia.
Bergkamp adds: 'In talks with Arsenal, if I said "a million" they automatically deducted a hundred grand "because you don't fly". And I accepted that.'
Another way of looking at it is for #shitloads a week he should get on the damn plane, fool...
Lol at poor bastard. Some of you take this player worship thing too far.
Some would say it was the actions of a diva. Im sure if he had to attend to a genuine emergency on the other side of the world he'd have flown pronto. But being paid 25k a week+ and the plight of Arsenal abroad maybe just didnt concern him too much.
Ultimately I feel we benefited. A non-flying attitude would probably not have been tolerated at Madrid/Barca, and he knew it.
Dennis Bergkamp is the most important signing in the history of Arsenal Football Club.
And I'm sure you'll get there one day.

If ever a player was worthy of worship, why fly when you can walk on water?

Izzit?
:haha:Quote:
And if I tried to lob David Seaman … woaah! If it worked, it was a fantastic goal and he was like: "Great, well done." But if it didn't work out, he got hold of the ball and smashed it two hundred yards away! He'd just kick it away and say "Get that!"
