Avoid losing by 3 and we're through.
:scarf:
0-2
3-1, last minute goal off Bendtner's left testicle to scrape us through.
We need Giroud to play & have a good game. He's bit shit recently so resting him for Man City serves no purpose, he needs to go into that game with a confidence boost. 2-1 Napoli, finish 2nd & then get Bayern in next round, rather play them now than in the final.
Napoli have no choice but to go for it, we should be able to pick them off.
Just don't concede early and give them anymore encouragement than they need.
Normally id be worried about conceding early in these types of games especially away in Europe but our defense is alot more solid this season.
id go with
Ches
Jenks Kos mert Monreal
Flamini Arteta
Rosicky
Walcott Giroud Carzorla
Ozil, Ramsey and Wilshere to come on if required.
Assuming Sagna is still out.
----------------Szczesny----------------
Sagna-----Merkyl--------KOS-------Nacho
---------Flamini----------Wilshere--------
Walcott----------Rosicky----------Cazorla
--------------Olivier Giroud---------------
Change it up, we ain't losing 3-0. City are resting players ahead of the weekend.
Start Walcott to hit them on the counter.
Done.
----------------Szczesny----------------
Jenkinson-----BFG--------Koscielny-------Monreal
Flamini-------Arteta-------Vermaelen-------Gibbs
-------------------Theo--------------------
Tbh.
Hamsik is out I believe.
I won't be on, apart from maybe the odd sporadic message through my phone. Pub.
Tbh is Thorsus Bilal-Hirschel. The new Akpom apparently.
Theo has GOT to start as we'll likely have space to attack.
Same back 5, Flamini + Arteta with Ramsey, Rosicky and Theo ahead of them. Giroud upfront.
although lets not forget how we tackled the 3 goal deficit against Bayern last year. we didnt go gun ho, just played normally. i dont think napoli will just throw caution to the wind to start. Get to half time and see where they are. I think we need to score to really kill the game, so play Theo who needs match time as i would play him against city as well.
Pre-emptive: Come on Arsenal.
Champions League music.
With Juventus out, if we top the group we get a bye to the quarter finals.
No Maccy around for the match?
He needs to pre-warn the kids about posting other scores or it could descend into chaos.
I nominate Syn as de facto Maccy in Maccy's absence.
1-1 in Newcastle
:haha:

strong team and going for the win. as it should be. we can't make up points if we lose tonight etc, we can in the league. theo clearly isn't ready to play a whole game yet, but with our busy schedule coming up, I'm glad we aren't pushing him if he isn't ready
Full teams:
Napoli: Rafael Cabral, Maggio, Fernández, Armero, Albiol, Callejón, Dzemaili, Behrami, Higuaín, Mertens, Pandev.
Subs: Colombo, Uvini, Britos, Cannavaro, Inler, Insigne, Zapata.
Arsenal: Szczęsny, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Rosický, Arteta, Özil, Santi Cazorla, Flamini, Giroud.
Subs: Fabiański, Vermaelen, Monreal, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Bendtner.
Rafa playing with four forwards again.
No Theo on the break. Wenger out tbh.
when you look at our starting eleven, then at our bench and then remember that we still have OX, Gnabry, Podolski and Sagna missing. i become less worried about squad depth and quality. thats a strong team with a very strong bench that will get stronger yet in the next couple of weeks when we get players back
Henry on Sky
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "We have some players who have little muscular problems, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere a little bit, and they have played a lot as well so they have been rested, but not with the Manchester City [game on Saturday] in mind.
"I was thinking about Theo Walcott starting but we are not very much in the need to take a gamble but he is one of the first I will think of if there is a need to score.
"We are a team than likes to go forward and to not do that would be very dangerous for us. We have done our job until now and we want to finish the job. The Champions League is always difficult to get over the line so that's why we need to be highly focussed tonight."
My concern with Flamini and Arteta playing at the same time is that it makes a double injury (which is clearly an improbability but not an impossibility) much more likely. I just prefer to have one left in the chamber personally.....
Neither will be as fresh for City neither, which is a huge game in the form City are in. I don't really see why Walcott shouldn't play but I think we will get through in any case. Up the Arse!
Henry giving a masterclass on how to make runs. Take notes Giroud
