Villa are not very good. Should be a comfortable win.
Then again we said that last time.
Who's the ref for this one?
While there's no doubt it was entirely Anthony Taylor's fault that we somehow lost the game at The Emirates, Villa for some reason do seem to be a bit of a bitch to overcome for us in our recent history.
If we don't beat them away from home (where we are brilliant and they are timid to say the least), then it's genuinely pathetic. They can barely score, have just lost to Sheffield United and have about a 20% possession average. Withstanding another corrupt referee, this has to be an absolute banker considering our form and the big rest we have prior to the game.
I'd like to see Gnabry rewarded for his performance, especially as at this stage he's still a mostly unknown quantity and could do serious damage to pub teams if he is unleashed. I think Wenget will go for an On Paper™ strongest team though (I assume Theo is most likely out for this).
Szczesny
Sagna
BFG
Koscielny
Gibbs/Monreal
Arteta
Wilshere
Rosicky
Ozil
Giroud
Cazorla
1-3 (Giroud, Cazorla, Podolski).
0-3
Ozil hattrick
Woy
Sagna
Merkyl
Kos
Gibbs
Arteta
Wilshere
Gnabry
Rosicky
Cazorla
Giroud
On form, I would go with that lot. I can't see a repeat of the farce that was the home game.
Don't think it's been decided yet. There's nothing on the PL website yet.
As long as we avoid, Taylor, Mason, Dean, Dowd or Webb it should be fine. Wouldn't mind Clattenburg or Marriner, we have quite good records with them.
As for the team:
Ches
Sagna
Kos
BFG
Gibbs
Arteta
Ozil
Wilshere
Santi
Giroud
Walcott
I'd much rather start Gnabry ahead of Wilshere with Santi moving to the centre but I doubt Wenger will opt for that.
I haven't heard diddly squat, but if he is back for the next game, there must be a pig in the universe somewhere flying. Really didn't look great. I assumed it wouldn't be a dramatically long time because Theo didn't exactly look distraught but I'd be amazed if he was ready to play in this.
I think it's really harsh to leave Rosicky out at the moment.
Oh well, with Theo out we've got to start Gnabry. We need players who can provide pace and directness.
Villa are poor but I think they will treat anything against us a bonus. So I imagine they will sit back and try to his us on the counter, we will have possession of around 75% and win 2-0.
I agree gnabry has to start, played very well last time and we need some pace and directness.... when is the Ox back?
The Ox is supposed to be joining in with full training this week.
Wish this game was on Saturday now to learn quicker how we will play sans Theo.
Theo. :(
Managed to get tickets to this
I hope VE VIN this!
We should win this one easily, Villa are sh*t anything but 3 points would be a massive blow.
Oxlade is available for this.
Ozil and Giroud likely to be back as well.
Ramsey and Gibbs less likely but not completely ruled out.
We've got Neil Swarbrick for this. Not bad, could have done a lot worse (see above mentioned) but he has a tendancy to be very reluctant to give out Yellow cards unless he absoutely has to. Might result in some physical scroting from Villa.
Giroud was only out of the last game because he was sick as opposed to injured so I 100% expect him to be in the line up Monday.
Ramsey and Gibbs can be on the bench which is fine because we have a number of in form midfielders and Monreal is more than competent in a game like this.
------------------Szczesny------------------
Sagna------Merkyl----------KOS-------Nacho
----------Arteta---------Wilshere------------
Gnabry------------Rosicky-------------Cazorla
---------------Olivier Giroud------------------
Subs: Flaps, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Ozil, Podolski - Solid looking bench.
BBITW™ tbh.
We need to exact revenge on these undesirables and what better way than to dish out one of our seasonal pasting on a pub team.
2-7.

Villa scoring 2 at home .
Team news from the press conf :
on Theo Walcott’s injury…
He has surgery and then it’s rehab. You know that it is six months and you hope it all goes well. The only thing I can say is it's very sad news for us and above all for him.
on Oxlade-Chamberlain being back…
It is unbelievable because he played the first game of the season, against Aston Villa, and now he is back and available and it is against Aston Villa again. That makes it five months where has been completely out, so that means he is fresh and that should give us a boost.
on Ramsey and Gibbs...
Ramsey and Gibbs are very close. There is a small possibility that both of them could be available on Monday.
on Giroud and Ozil...
They had a good training session yesterday and today they had no problem. They could be back.
on Bendtner…
Bendtner, you count three weeks from now until he is back in training.
on Vermaelen…
Vermaelen had a little knee problem so he had to come off against Tottenham. He could be short for Monday but there's still a chance. But everybody else should be alright.
We are winning all the points!
We are the greetest!
The weekend results so far have turned this must win into a REALLY ABSOUTELY MUST WIN NOW.
Its tough at the top.
De Niro tipped Aston Villa to win tomorrow.
They nearly got the Everton result right too.
Only 24 hours to wait. Rest.
Awlful for supporters.
The title is man city's. The refs are doing all they can to ensure city win the title. Every other match, a controversial decision or two goes their favor.
All we can hope to do is keep playing consistently and be close to the top.
And they're doing it really obvious, i dont understand how this is accepted by FA. Refs should seriously be fined or put down in lower leagues if they make big mistakes like theese, how many points have changed hands so far this season from bad ref decisions? Its scary.
Anyway, looking forward to our match tomorrow :)
I have no idea who will start on the wings, Rosicky have been awesome, Podolski is fully fit, Gnabry is the new jesus and Cazorla is awesome as always, and then we have Ox who will probably get a cameo in the end.
1-1 last min plenalty for Villa for a foul on the halfway line.
