Must win game.
Podolski should start on the left IMO.
Come on you gooners!
Splinter was on a roll :rose:
But yeah, obviously have to win.
Saints aren't playing that well recently, and have quite a few injuries last time I read.
0-2 Arsenal :scarf:
Just noticed we get an extra day rest compared to them
Mourinho :pal:
Southampton haven't been as impressive as they were a few months ago, plus they have some injuries and in-house problems. Won't be easy but I think we will pub another away win here.
0-1
0-4
Southampton have had spells without Lovren already this season although he is class, so I expect them to acquit themselves well. Going with Wenger's philosophy of playing one wide player and one playmaker in the wide positions I'd be tempted to go with.
--------------Szczesny--------------
Sagna----Merkyl-------KOS-----Gibbs
--------Arteta-------Wilshere--------
NEMO---------Cazorla--------Podolski
-----------Olivier Giroud-------------
They'll still give us a tough game I think, even with some players missing. But us killing them off and not going to sleep as we tend to do when we have any sort of lead is more important. For that reason, I hope Podolski starts, as he loves goals and it will get him back to 100%. Strongest team for this game, because we can probably rest a few against Palace at home.
1-3 (Giroud, Podolski, Wilshere).
Who's NEMO?
Özil
Ahh
This place is a fan of obscure names/alias' so I thought I'd oblige with Ozil. I thought Nemo was at least closely enough related to the source that it could be worked out!
Nemo is slightly rude, but intended with love. :d
0-3
Ozil hattrick
Southampton have fallen away recently as teams like them do, they've also got a number injuries and of course have suspended one of their better players, we should win this given the state they are in.
Wilshere major doubt for the game.
But, Arteta/Ramsey/Verm are all back !
Quote:
"We have a doubt about Jack Wilshere, who had this ankle problem during the game against Coventry," Wenger said.
"But we have three players back normally in the squad. The three are Vermaelen, Arteta and Ramsey.
"They should all be back and available, but we might lose Jack for tomorrow's game. "
Arsenal's victory over Coventry has set them up with another home tie in the FA Cup, this time against Liverpool.
"It's an interesting draw and a difficult one. We have a little advantage by playing at home. That means we don't travel," Wenger added.
"But overall it's a great difficulty, and we'll try again to absorb it and to come out in a positive way."
Great to have Ramsey back.
Lineup will be:
----------------Chez-----------------
sagna----Mert------Kos------nacho
----------flamini---Ramsey--------
Rosicky---------Ozil-----------Podolski
-----------------Giroud--------------
Rosicky over Santi because Rosicky will hang back and defend more.
Nacho seems to have ousted Gibbs and is now the first choice LB. Just goes to show the competetion in the squad these days. Before his injury, Gibbs was first choice and playing well.
Arteta and Rambo are back in training. Will probably feature on the bench. Apart from Theo, Diaby and Sanago that's a full squad to pick from. Almost perfect timing.
----------------Chesney-----------------
Sagna----BFG----------Kos-------Monreal
----------Flamini-------Jack------------
Santi--------------Ozil-----------Podolski
-----------------Giroud--------------
Subs: Fabianski, TV5, Gibbs, Rosicky, Ramsey, Arteta, Bendtner
Gnbary hasn't been as impressive in the last two matches plus he's quite young so I think he'll get a rest.
FFS completely forgot about the Ox. Who do you leave out though?
Bendtner perhaps? But we do need a striker backup on the bench incase something happens to Giroud.
Edit - Jack's a doubt so perhaps Rambo to start and Ox to make the bench them.
I'd keep Arteta out till he is fully fit.
Lovren has been confirmed as injured . :good:
Jack is a doubt for the game, so I reckon Ox will again play in the centre
----------------Chesney-----------------
Sagna----BFG----------Kos-------Monreal
----------Flamini-------Ox------------
Santi--------------Ozil-----------Podolski
-----------------Giroud--------------
I reckon Arteta will play, presuming he is fully fit.
Don't care who plays as long as we win 2-0
A lot of people were saying Jack was playing shite and was overhyped etc earlier in the season (when he was playing out of position) but now that he's played in his favourite position, he's been our best player over the alst few games and its no coincidence considering he was played outwide at first. For me Jack is a real talent and if he can add goals to his game he'll be world class.
Southampton: Boruc, Chambers, Fonte, Yoshida, Shaw, Cork, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Lallana, Rodriguez, Gallagher
Subs: K. Davis, Clyne, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Guly, Hooiveld, Isgrove
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Flamini, Ozil, Cazorla, Gnabry, Giroud
Subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski, Bendtner
Two DM's? No Podolski. Hope Wenger knows what he's doing.
Arteta and Flamini together...
That means Flamini will pretend he can play football and move further up the pitch.
At least Wanyama won't be tanking it in midfield from the start.
Yoshida had a stinker in the 6-1 last season - repeat it.
Ramsey not on the bench and mysteriously unmentioned in the match preview on the official website. Hope he hasn't picked up a serious knock overnight.

With the chavs and the gypos facing off on the weekend and us against palace this is a great chance to pull a small gap on one or both. So don't fuck it up please.
Its funny how the media is crazy about this super duper wonder kid januzaj from a mid-table team. But you dont really see any hype from the media, when an 18yr old german keeps putting in MoM performances for the #1 team. Gnabry
Time for özil and gnabry to put up some german magic... 6-0 özil/gnabry hattricks
Somewhat surprising Gnabry is starting rather than Podolski.
