We have hit a rough. Win this and we have a decent chance for the cup.
We have to keep a clean sheet and somehow hope that someone up front can conjure up something.
I won't be able to watch this as I'll be travelling back from Yorkshire - and I'm ok with that.
Hopefully Agger will be fit for this, I don't want Kolo anywhere near our team again.
Apart from that, I've no idea for our team. Maybe Allen and Moses. But I expect it to be strong.
0-3
Bullshit, we will not win this, not with Wenger at the helm. :coffee:
YAWN
0-0
0-0 after extra time
0-0 after pens
0-0 after sudden death
0-0 after actual death
We just have to win this now.
1-2
Season's over.
It'll be a fight for 4th for us.
2-1 tbf.
This is a huge game really.
Depend on the teams, liverpool can afford to play a strong team as they dont have CL to contend with. No doubt we will see 4 or 5 squad players get a game. Jenkenson, Monreal, Gnarby, Podolski and Bentdner will all probably start.
If Liverpool play their strongest 11 they will win comfortably...
3-0
Ozil hattrick
Terrible news, Howard Webb has been assigned this match. I remember him sending off Adebayor for literally nothing a few years go in the same fixture.
It'll mean the likes of Lucas will be able to commit 10,000 niggly fouls before he's finally shown a yellow card so that the "flow" of the game can be protected.
I don't think it matters who is assigned to this match
And Lucas is dead.
Plus, we'll have Flamini playing so we'll need somebody who lets players commit 10,000 fouls with impunity.
We have Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson and Suarez who can foul there.
Who knows what will happen here? Thought we'd go out and be positive against Utd. Now I suppose the chances are we'll try to get away with another negative approach. If we do that then we're out, no doubt about it. If we play with a bit of ambition then maybe. Trouble is the desperately negative approach to the last two games has rapidly converted us from favourites to simply ensuring we don't get a pasting. This has been a bad, bad week for the manager. He's handled just about everything 100% wrong.
It shows how people 's memory is very short . Just because of the 5-1 scoreline suddenly Liverpool becomes a nightmare for Arsenal fans . Normally Liverpool do not give us a hard time and I would take that thrashing as a on-off Just as the scums thrashed us 5-1 in Carling cup few years back .
This is a game that Arsenal will win and win well .
3-1
i expect us to rest a few players, although not sure why as surely we are more likely to beat Liverpool at home than bayern over two legs. And if we do rest players and Liverpool play full strength side, cant see how losing another game is really going to help confidence. i would like to see gnabry play and the ox... just had a bit of pace into the side. give wilshere a rest along with giroud.
we are going to have to defend better than last time, perhaps give Sagna a rest but Gibbs needs another game and we dont have a choice with the Mert/Kos partnership.
think we will draw 1-1 just to make things worse.
Do we play a replay if its a draw after the 90? dont fancy going to Anfield again this season.
Liverpool will play their first 11 because they have no midweek games, they dont have to worry abut fitness or fatigue.
Its funny because prior to last saturday, id have said this was a routine 2-0 win against them but after their last 2 big wins, they'll be confident of winning.
The only thing i do think will go for us is that Rodgers wont stifle us like Man ure or Chelsea and his side will be open and attacking so i guess it leaves some room for us to attack.
1-0.
2-0
Wenger is sure to rest 1 or 2 at least. Im hoping he plays a strong team. Flamini is sure to play, podolski too. Id say we are looking at fabianski, sagna, mertesacker, koschielny, gibbs, flamini, arteta, ox,, podolski, bentdner, gnarby. Liverpool will play a full strength tho they msy make 1 or 2 changes. Id rather lose this than draw as we won't win away anyway. We'll prob lose 2 or 3-1 tho....
I would much rather win this and lose against bayern. The competition is wide open as most of the teams we struggle against are out. In wenger speak we stand about 5% chance of going through against bayern.
Evening boys and girls,
Liverpool fan back again and was wondering if I could pick your brains again for our forum.
No point asking the same questions, but want to get a general feel for how you guys see the game coming up (pessimistic bunch aren't ya?!).
1) What were your thoughts about the game at Anfield?
2) Where do you think you got it wrong and where did LFC get it right?
3) Do you think Wenger will alter his approach in light of the last couple of results?
4) Any expected changes in the lineup?
5) What priority do you put on this game vs PL and CL?
6) What's your prediction?
Any help appreciated guys!!
Go ahead GP, you have my support this time.
My belief is the manager will rest players, so we can remain 'fresh' for the Bayern game midweek - a game which by the time it has ended, we'll have long pissed away our best shot of silverware this season, the FA Cup, and will be left facing the daunting task of having to go to the Allianz, required to win by 3-4 clear goals to advance to the next round of the CL.
1-2.
:getcoat:
1. I was pretty gutted, nothing else to add really.
2. We're a fairly conservative team now, we don't really press and play with much energy. It's all very methodical and we rely on our ability to keep the ball to see us through games. That's fine against the weaker teams who won't have a go but against the better sides we don't have that same fear factor. Liverpool just went for it and we folded.
3. No I don't expect a huge change of approach, but I suppose this game being so soon after the hammering on Saturday means we may give a better account of ourselves.
4. Fabianski will probably go in goal. Flamini returns from suspension and there's a possibility of Gnabry starting. Maybe Vermaelen as well.
5. Well for me I place this very high because I think we're unlikely to win the league and have very little chance of getting past Bayern.
6. 1-1.
1-1.
And pub a morale-boosting win in the replay.
:ilt: Embarrassing. Haven't seen us ripped apart like that for a long
We played far too high a line although I do think it was a bit of a freak game. The early goal got your tails up, we never recovered.
 He basically never changes his approach.
I think with one eye on the Bayern game he'll rotate a bit, no idea who.
CL definitely 3rd priority as I don't believe we have much hope vs Bayern. I don't think we'll win the PL either so if I had to pick one it would be the FA Cup simply because a lot of the big guns are out and if we beat Liverpool there'll be only one other big side left. In the PL I hope we finish strongly, we won't win it but if we don't collapse, get a decent number of points and get more points than last year I'll be content enough.
Think we might sneak it 2-1.
The Telegraph says Andy Gray will commentate on this one, rather than Owen :yippee:
A victory for the human race, some might say.
No jokes about their terrible makeshift backline and how rubbish it is? We must be really scared this time....
Hopefully the return of flamini will help us have a bit more aggression and control in the middle. The amount of space between the midfield and our defense in the game at Anfield was the main contributor to our humiliation.
Cazorla is out for this. Podolski will likely start in that case.
Flamini is back.
Arteta is suspended for the Bayern game, so I'd like to see Flamini start and then get taken off later on so he's ready for Bayern.
