I never like playing a team in the league and then having to play them again in a cup. It just always feels like a bad omen.... Anyway, kill and destroy.....no fannying around if you please lads.
It is amazing to think that anyone fancied Monreal over Gibbs a short while ago. Don't think there are any of that view left! I know many think Arteta is hopeless but it shouldn't be forgotten that the best tried and tested combo this season has been the Arteta-Ramsey axis.....imo that is.
Ozil to come on to get him up to speed.
------------Young Wheezy------------
Sagna-----MERKYL------KOS-----Gibbs
--------Arteta--------Ramsey---------
Chamberlain-----Cazorla--------Podolski
------------Olivier Giroud--------------
Our record against the bottom half sides is ok so I think we should get the job done here.
Must win. As all the games are now.
1-2.
With 4 games to go we're still in the title race.... and some of you want Arsene gone?
I dont have a good feeling about this game. But hopefully the result last night will galvanise the players and give us the upper hand.
1-2. Ramsey, Pod.
We're gonna smash these cunts.
Then we'll smash them again in the FA Cup final.
0-3.
Up The Gunners! :scarf:
Ozil available.
Monreal as well
Gibbs out. Fuck.
Monreal is fine.
Save Gibbs for the Cup final
TV5 at LFB. Please?
Montreal has retarded over the season and now has to be considered a massive liability regardless of opponent.
I think Monreal struggles against pace mainly.
Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Flamini, Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosicky, Ox, Podolski
Harsh on Giroud after he grabbed the match winner by scoring a goal that every top striker, past and present, has been admiring.
Maybe Giroud has cut out all the whoring around and has got back to football. Great if true. But apart from the goal, which was superb, I think he played like a guy who has not cut out the whoring around and has not got back to football.
But. That leaves Sanogo. So Bif it is then.
Don't know much about Hull, do they have a pacey wide man on the left? If so, Monreal must not play. Even Fabianski would be a better option at LB. But if Hull has a plodder out there then Nacho can cope.
Ozil hattrick I would think.
3-0
Yay - team is starting to take shape again. Players coming back. It's amazing to think injuries to all our top players affected our performances but, strange as it seems, that appears to be the case.
I think Giroud was atrocious before the goal, and he wasn't that great afterwards....we rule out the idea of playing Podolski up front because we think we need someone to hold up the ball, we really don't....all we need is a bit of pace on the flanks, Ox on the left...Rosicky on the right (still has the ability to motor forward on the break)...Cazorla in the middle....and all kinds of service to feed on.
Montreal is a liability these days and cannot get anywhere near the first team. Vermaelen can do a job there and is a better defender.
No.....I think we rule it out because the several times he has played in the central role he has been absolutely woeful almost every time. Totally anonymous which is a risk we can't afford right now. Giroud is no Pele but he has scored 20 goals playing in that role and had games when he didn't score this season but still had a significant contribution with good assists.
Podolski has only really played a true central role on a regular basis for Cologne and I think that is telling...
Its kind of counter intuitive, but Pods has shown lately that maybe Wenger is right about him not playing enough to his potential to start. If he can recreate his intensity against West Ham - he deserves to start. But I would want to see 3 or 4 similar performances to see him as a consistent match winner.

Because of Everton losing to palace. I think today will be the day that we will more or less wrap up 4th place. Not mathematically but psychologically. We beat Hull then two home games against a team on holiday and west brom
Apparently their fans want us to win today, because if we get top 4, they'll automatically get a Europa league spot.
They don't have much else to play for bar the final.
I thought they qualified already? 5th, 6th and FA Cup winners/runners up.
The fa cup runners up place only stands if the winners then go on and finish in the top 4. So they'd want us to finish in the top 4, so they'd be guaranteed of European football next season.

If the FA Cup winners finish in the top four, their UEFA Europa League place goes to the runners-up. However, if the FA Cup winners finish outside the top four, their UEFA Europa League place goes to the next-highest ranked team in the Barclays Premier League (nominally the seventh-placed team)...
If Arsenal beat Hull City in the 17 May final and finish fourth they will qualify for the UEFA Champions League and Steve Bruce’s side will enter the UEFA Europa League as runners-up. However, if the Gunners win the FA Cup and finish outside of the top four they will enter the group stage of the UEFA Europa League as FA Cup winners and an extra place will go to the club who finish seventh in the Barclays Premier League
Fair enough. They better make it nice and easy for us today then.
Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Arteta, Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud
Arsenal subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Flamini, Kallstrom, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky, Sanogo
Strong team, need to put these cunts to the sword.

As strong a side we've fielded in a while. Just missing Theo and Gibbs really.
