I reckon Gibbs will be fit
I think Southampton will go through the poor run of results they went through last year around the same time, it will be a difficult match but if we play solidly like we did against Dortmund and the Baggies , confident of three points.
Wish we hadn't run so many of our players into the ground as Ramsey and Mertesacker need to be dropped
2-0 Giroud and Sanchez
3-0
0-3
3-3
2-1. Saints are a decent side and will come to attack us so it should be an open game.
Play the same eleven as we did against West Brom and go for it from kick off.
Ramsey and Giroud with the goals.
Wenger will have to go if we don't win this one
Defensively they've been brilliant but their attack is really nothing special... we should beat them but we 'should' beat most teams.
Absolutely a must win game for us. Especially win pool and united winning today.
Crowd will get ugly if we get anything other than 3 points.
The recent results have really turned against us. Giving United a boost sure didn't help things.
This is now a must win game for those bothered about the CL.
I expected at least one of Liverpool or Man ure to drop points so its disapointing they both won.
Its a bit worrying that Man u have now won 4 on the bounce (including their one and only win away from hme in 9 months against our sorry lot) and it seems their luck is back after clearing two on the line in the last few minutes yesterday.
Yeah, that's because we've been shit too. is this news?
It was diabolical to give Utd such a boost at our place. For me that's a key reason to jump off the fence and into the Wenger out camp. You can't do that, you can't give direct opponents that sort of momentum, especially so cheaply. We'll struggle all season to catch them now, and if we don't make up the ground we'll have handed them a CL spot. We should have beaten that Utd side by 3 or 4 goals, that's how average they are. But Wenger has built a team that is 99% sure of failing significant challenges. And it has been like that for years, which is why we need somebody else to come in and instil a better attitude and get more out of the team. 5 points behind that Utd lump of shite going into to tonight's game - it's scandalous.
The sad thing is that if Wenger played that same shite united side 5 times he`d lose 4 times and get 1 draw. Whereas even Burnley would give them a hard game. That is a measure of how gormless Wenger is in big games nowadays. Yet he will come away from each defeat talking about great spirit and character, not to mention 66% possession.
Think we'll win tonight and win well for a change.
4-1.
Can Pele do it on a chilly night in North London?
Can he fuck.
He'll be put in his place by the only big, tall, handsome striker that counts:
Sanogo.
(2-1 tbf) .
Tonights team - Martinez, Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Ramsey, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis, Welbeck.
Not sure why but strangely confident
Owen #chewsownelbowoff
Very fortune that "Pele" Pelle bloke is total shit.
These refs are clueless. They blow based on what they think might have possibly happened, rather than what they see. Unless blowing requires guts, in which case they bottle it.
Unbelievably poor officiating again. They get everything wrong that it's possible to get wrong. Useless twats.
What match is Owen watching?
Flamini plays it back towards an empty net with the striker rushing in. That's just terrible play. Schoolboy stuff.
Thank fuck for Ox. At least he shoots or else we'd be pinging one-twos in the box until the weekend.
Kos is easily, easily our best defender.
Flamini, always his first instinct is to go backwards.
This is slow, boring shit.
Again.
Officials getting almost everything wrong. Dreadful.
BTs commentary team is fucking dire.
Wanyama does NOT get a card for deliberately raking his studs down Alexis' calf.
Hard to tell how bad these officials could get by the time the night is out.
Ramsey
As things stand, this will be the 12th game from 14 league games where we are not taking a lead into the break.
14 of 21 goals scored in second half
Alexis fouled for the 300th time. Yellow this time.
It's set up nicely for a Southampton goal in injury time just before the break....
Decent effort by Welbeck. Lurch saves it.
Tadic complaining because the ref blew for one of the fouls he managed to put in on Alexis in a 2 second burst.
